I think Blade Runner 2049 was/is criminally underrated and imo is almost better than the original movie with the special effects and how much more real it looks and feels. The original special effects are very clunky, the movie is pretty slow and with not a lot of action in it. BR: 2049 even with it being an almost 3 hour long movie, I could've honestly sat and watched another 30 minutes at least of it, if there had been more. It was entertaining, the pacing was great and it kept me interested or entertained throughout the entire movie. I think the thing I enjoyed most about it was the wallpaper shots that they have. The beginning part of the movie where he has his car parked and it's a wide shot with him walking into the farmhouse, it looks like something you'd see on a movie poster. Same with where he goes to Vegas and walks through the dust with the statues of the women, the ending scene with him getting out of his car and the snow where he's laying on the stairs and so forth. The entire movie has completely beautiful shots like that and the music on top of that is phenomenal. I also enjoyed the thought process behind the ending of the movie that's talked about with the female replicant earlier in the movie who is in charge of the resistance about how Dying for the right cause. It's the most human thing we can do. Which plays with your mind a bit and makes you think that no, while K isn't necessarily a human physically or at least he isn't alluded to as being one, but he behaves like one in that he gives up his life doing what he thinks is the right thing to do and for something that is bigger than just himself.

I ve watched this three times and the 3rd time showed it to my Dad. Neither of us were impressed, or entertained.
Despite what should have been a memorable epic w/ the source material and cast, BR-2049 is a boring slog-fest.
That whole Replicants Unite thread went nowhere, added nothing but more time. Leto was odd in a bad way, Wright was wasted, Gosling/Ford barely raised their voices or showed a lick of emotion when required.
Hoeks was awful. Couldn t wait to see her character end, but both her and the film s conclusion are woefully anti-climactic. de Armas and James were the best parts of this lifeless flop, and his orphanage story felt tacked-on and paint-by-numbers rote.
The original still beats this dud for setting, plot, acting, dialogue, soundtrack (by a galaxy length in that regard) Ain t nothing worth watching twice in Villeneuve s lumbering, empty misfire.

One thing about the Steline memory scene. K knew he was a replicant, he just didn't know if he was the miracle replicant. She also only tells him that the memory is real, she specifically doesn't tell him that it's her memory or not his own, which makes him believe it's his own and that it's him. That's why he loses his sh t - he doesn't want to be hunted forever.
Personally, I wonder if Steline even knew all along that she was a replicant herself, and chose her words carefully to protect herself.
Also, I think the baseline tests were only for replicant Blade Runners, not all of them. When he fails his second test, she tells him she can get him out of the building alive, insinuating that he's going to be retired if he fails the next one. Great catch on the Nabakov quotes, btw.

the child Deckard and Rachel have together even though 'one' of them is a replicant.
This line, really, confused me because a miracle would be two replicants having a child.
Joshi says, outright, that knowledge that replicants can 'replicate' would shatter the status quo and start a war between humans and replicants.
Now, If you need a human to 'replicate' you do not go to war with them.
. On second thought:
That may be why the resistance is covert.

True
The people actually don't have a movie taste and always want cliche content
This movie has a very unique elements and story, cinematography and dialogue delivery is also awesome.
Emotional connections between actors is makes you bind with the movie

I didn't care for the first film, but I love the sequel. That said, the entire cast was great in this film! Given the options of dreaming of electric or the threesome, I'd just take the AI Girlfriend. Ana De Armas is on a different level of gorgeous!

The original Blade Runner is an amazing sci-fi flick, but I fell asleep halfway through the remake. Or reboot, reimagining, sequel, prequel, or whatever the director calls it. Cash has been grabbed.
