The Biggest Unanswered Questions In It: Chapter Two The: Just for shits and giggles, I'm going to try to answer these questions. I'm two in, and I feel like either I missed something, or Looper did.
1, Short of having Richie literally confess his love, and have a gay love scene, they couldn't have been more clear on Richie and his feelings for Eddy. If you notice, he started the R + E carving as a child, but only got to R +. He goes and carves the E after Eddies death. That clearly shows he's had a long-standing crush on Eddie. When you look at the way Richie treated Eddie, when they were kids, you see him doing a lot of teasing and such; the same things young kids are known to do when they don't know how to express a crush properly.
2, It is shown a few times--the scene where Bowers carves his name into Ben, the scene where the gay couple is attacked--that show Pennywise has influence over the adults in the town. The adults seem to regularly be blind to the suffering of others (hence the heightened racism and anti-gay sentiments. That's why we see adults driving by, not even stopping to help Ben; why Bill's parents don't care about his grief unless it causes him to take something from his father's office. It could easily explain why no one cares at the Chinese restaurant.
3, Of course the population is low. You can't have a monster feeding on dozens of Derry children every 27 years and maintain a decent population. Perhaps there are even some who managed to intentionally escape Derry, in much the same way (all but one of) the losers did. This also helps explain question #2, to some degree.
4, Where is the turtle? On the cutting room floor, or in a thrown-away early draft of the script, most likely. Lets call a spade a spade. the turtle idea sucks, and isn't even really necessary for the story. They achieve that same the heroes aren't in this alone vibe by telling the story of the old Indian tribe that tried to banish IT the first time, and left instructions passed on to Mike.
5, Not sure what the question is, here. IT is a projection of the dead lights--the source of IT's power. The best we have to go on, if you want to know what it's true form is, is in the novel. Bill is the only one to see the true form, which he describes as hairy and insect-like, made entirely of blinding orange light. We also know IT is a predatory alien, that uses its shape-shifting ability to manipulate its prey.
6, They actually answer their own question, here. It may also have something to do with the powerful, domineering style of his mother's parenting. We find out that Eddie ended up with someone just like his mother, which could suggest that his memories of her never left him. Remember, they don't ALL lose ALL their Derry memories. Bill still remembers the death of his brother.
7, No one could know the answer to this last one. unless you're Stephen King or Andy Muschietti (think that's how you spell his last name.

1: . yes. It's kind of the point?
2: because of plot armour. It's a fake story it's fine
3: it's a small town and other people don't matter to this story
4: there is a supercut coming out that will have the turtle
5: I really don't think that anyone was bothered by this.
6: Eddie must have kept up with his mom; she made him truly believe he needed her, and she was so overbearing and clingy with him after his dad's death
7: there is a connected universe theory taking about it.

1: 30 they show that pennywise is controlling the adults of the town when in the first movie it shows the red balloon in a car when Ben was being attacked, pennywise keeps the police and detectives away so he can cultivate the losers clubs fears and eat them afterward

They remembered some things, they didnt just forget people. Ben kept that yearbook page in his wallet for 27 years (he definitely remembered Bev) so why would they think Eddie wouldnt remember his mom?
reply

the reason eddie remembers his moms death is because she died after they both moved out while bev moved without her father therefore having no connection to him and didnt get any news or updates

My unanswered question. didnt Bowers die in the original It? He was knocked down the well and fell hundreds of feet to his death. Yet hes definitely in It chapter 2.

You missed a Maturin easter egg. The drug (or whatever it is) that the Native Americans gave Mike was called Maturin. (They fed me their sacred Maturin)

Unanswered question: what's with the old circus picture with Bill Skarsgard on it or Bill in 4: 48? Seems like it could do with some more backstory

What did pennywise as the old woman mean when she said. you know what they said people from dery never really die or something like that.
