Movies That Almost Had Much Happier Endings Brian: I won't say details here in case my film ever does get optioned and made, but the screenplay I've written has had 4 different endings. The second was a no dialogue walk into the light, the boy and girl happy, while music played. The third was similar but with dialogue. The fourth is the version in use right now and is easily the best ending yet and the one that will stay intact. And what was the first original ending? Again I won't give details but. Let's just say I finally realized it was a giant middle finger to the audience if it hits theaters that would pass them off and after a while I realized I didn't like either.
But my point is begin with the end in mind. I did and that fourth ending that stuck has helped me strengthen the middle and even the FIRST PAGE is better thanks to the newEST ending.

I love how the fly ends. For a movie that's so hard to watch, it's an incredibly depressing and tragic movie. I love how it just ends after she kills him. The sequels a good watch but I prefer to think that's just where it ended

how do you know the movie wouldn't have been as successful if they didn't change the ending? For all you know, it could've gone just as well

Rocky Balboa had a very happy ending. Like the first movie, It didn't matter that he lost. He proved himself and went the distance.

The Mist might be one? Although I'm not sure that Frank Darabont was EVER gonna cave on his dark (and appropriate) ending.

I really enjoyed and looked star wars rough one due to such a good story not like the sequels to it (talking about EP 8-7 )
