Very much liked the movie, I still haven't fully digested it but probably on a second or third place after aliens2 and maybe alien. The whole preface that weyland yutani would misplace a whole research station, is just extremely unplausible. Even more so when said station has a damaged but functional ASH android that claims it is able to use the communication module and get in contact weyland yyutani to get a team sent to them in 6 months. It just seem unlikely that a station breaks down due to alien outbreak then drift for a while, until it is spotted by the colony right before it is about to crash into some rings without weyland yutani trying to reclaim it. It's too convenient. That the team initially think it is a ship and not a station is also weird to me. the whole preface is something where you just have to disengage logical or critical thinking and just enjoy the movie IMO.
I must also admit I thought the director could have had fun with the 5 cryopods they recover. They only checked 1 of them when they found them. The other 4 could have been full of facehuggers, implanted hosts or any kinds of spicy stuff, I honnestly thought that might have been the way the alien would get on to their ship: )
As for the ending and a potential followup, then we know there was at least 30 something face huggers running around, and that's not counting for a potential queen somewhere. The spacecraft they left on had been in the hangar for like 40-60 minutes with it's doors open. Frankly I will be almost surprised if a face hugger did not hide aboard the ship.
The movie left me almost physical exhausted because it just didn't stop with the suspence, there was very little in the form of breaks where you could get your pulse down from 200, it also introduced some nightmare fuel like a swarm of face huggers that we hadn't seen before outside of comics or games, and there was more lore about the alien growth cycle. I feel though that the different movies, games, comics, books etc, really can't agree on how long incubation takes and how long it takes a chestburster to fully grown. I think this movie beat the speed record for both. From someone gets facehugged, impregnated, chestbursted etc. and until you have a fully grown Xenomorph in your face it takes at the most 15-20 minutes in the movie. That's a far cry from the other alien movies where it is easily a day or more.
The actor who played the android absolutely smacked it out of the ballpark, that was a really really great performance by him. The rest where from okaish to good. Also in term of annoyance then that annoying character with the weak mustache(bjorn) is either a very good actor or he has a natural talent for it, I almost cheered when he got his acid accident; P
When I saw the scene where they retrieve the original alien, my first thought was that they where actually retrieving the mutating remnants of Dallas and Brett from extended edition, but it makes fine sense to me that an alien would cocoon itself to survive in space.
I feel that the references to previous movies got a bit to much at times, but some where also great. I enjoyed seeing ASH, and variations of the spacecraft from prometheus just much more worn down, but rehashing some of the quotes from earlier movies felt unnecessary,
I could live with face huggers needing body heat or similar to be able to target pretty, but I was confused if the movie implied the same thing for the pregnant sister when she had cold water all over her, if that was why the alien didn't grab her or if it was just using her as bait. If it was the body heat thing then that is utterly ridiculous. The facehuggers themselves seemed a lot less efficient as well, almost storm trooper syndrome with how many times they had the chance to grab someone but didn't take it or miss.
The Smart pulse rifle seemed a bit overpowered, why don't the marines have those: )
The hybrid was a lot better than the one in aliens 4, but I still think a true xeno is more scary. I would kinda like see them play with the concept of mixing androids with aliens, but I simply can't see humans getting injected with black goo and it not ending very badly for them, that just my head canon: )

It was a solid 6/10.
1. The kids were too clean
2. Thick British accents Why
3. Kids were supposed to downtrodden and exhausted coal miners with zero stress, dirt on their faces or vices. Looked like trust fund babies
4. Dad gifted her an old droid but she had no way of updating it for years Oh wait she wanted to keep it dumb so it would listen to her. Dumb
5. They have access to a ship that they can leave anytime they choose but they are working themselves to the bone
6. The same exact energy that fuels the sleep chambers is the same exactly energy used to face huggers sleep
7. The aliens grew from baby to wemby overnight

I love how Romulus strayed away from the Prometheus and Covenant emphasis on AI/synthetic as the antagonist with the aliens only as the backdrop.
AI still has a nefarious role to play but isn't so much the antagonist in this movie. Which I prefer because after all didn't we fall in love with the struggle of the alien xenomorph vs human vs human greed aspect At least, I did and thus really like this new installment, Romulus.
David Jonsson as Andy gave the best performance here. Bravo!

Looks cool. Interesting. I agree. Women should not be made to give birth. Abortion is ok under certain circumstances. It there's a danger to a mothher, baby(or embryone is not healthy0 ect. I like it's between Alien and Aliens. We know Ripley is there. We know they are all there. Great video. I like this. Tv show looks interesting too. Ofspring is pretty good too. Very scary. Great video

A movie is as good as his final arc.
In this movie the final arc was resurrection all over again but mixing with the despicable movie of Prometheus. So it makes it even worst than the resurrection one
1 out of 10 as best.
Xenomorphs appears just 10 min just to be obliterated showing 0 treath.
And the newborn copy is even worst than the original one

Fans wanted the Ridley Scott sequel to Covenant, finishing the trilogy. Nobody wants this movie with a bunch of nobodies. It will flop, as will the TV series for the same reason. Finish the trilogy, make Neill Blomkamp’s Aliens sequel, and stop giving us the retreads.

Certainly the 3rd best Alien movie and ties up the first 3 movies well as well as enhancing elements of the prequels. Did the newborn better then Resurrection also, made the facehugger a legit threat.
One of the downsides was the three endings.

I want Engineer storyline to continue and have more Engineer vs Xenomorph storylines
David is also the greatest character of all time in Alien franchise and i want his story to continue as well

I saw the movie, and I must confess to being a grown man who hollered out loud to some of the scary parts of the film. A great piece of entertainment. Great video and recap.
