Betrayal at Krondor deminds me of the 30+ book novel series from Raymond Feist i read which this game is based on (a specific book). If anybody is looking for a grand fantasy epos spanning several hundreds of years, start with Midkemia Saga 1 - no thanks needed i like to improve your life: D. Only warning, give the first book a chance and continue trough to the second, the first one has. -some- paralells to lord of the rings book 1 xD

I loved this, as I have all of your other catalogue episodes (including the Y2K Best Buy, and the early 90s RadioShack.
I used to thumb through the computer and video games sections of department store catalogues in the mid to late 90s. this REALLY hits me in the nostalgia.
Also, there were some games in here I hadn't heard of, and I'm going to see if I can find any for a good price on eBay. So this is a double win for me!

Yeah the late 80's to mid 90's was a real golden age for PC gaming. It's funny as when you look back on what we had then, you realise it was crap but it didn't feel that way at the time. Take Dune II for example. Looking at that game today I wonder how the hell I payed it for more than an hour or two but back then as a 13 year old, I was addicted to it.

OMG! I totally forgot the existence of Total Annihilation, I played this as much as C&C and AoE series back in the day, these two I kept playing to this day but Total Annihilation simply disappeared from my memory. Looking now at the screenshots it looks like a completely different game to what my kid's mind has seen. Thank you very much for this!

Clint. You would do well to find that Sierra Kid's Typing program. Even as an adult that program is amusing as hell and generally awesome. It features a ghost who haunts a 90's 'Modern' house and the better/faster you type the ghost haunts the scene more interestingly. It is totally up your alley. It puts Mavis Beacon to actual shame.

You can still play Ultima Online if you feel the urge for uber nostalgia. The game's still live and still getting updates. Considering how many other online games EA have killed, it's a bit odd this one's allowed to live on, even if it was the first real MMO and runs on a potato of a server

8: 59 My earliest gaming memory is actually of playing Aaahh Real Monsters (and Ecco the Dolphin) on my older brother's Sega Mega Drive. I don't recall it ever being shown on TV here so I had no clue what it was until much later. I'll have to play it sometime if for nothing but the memories.

Holy shit. I definitely do not remember ever paying $64. 99 for a Sierra game. Maybe stores didn't actually sell them at the retail prices. Worth noting that video games have actually gone down in price over the years, arguably, and indisputably if you factor inflation into the equation.

I really liked Alien Legacy. One of my favorite games. I've played it I think at 3-4 times through from start to finish. There are certain aspects that really fall short but other aspects truly shine. You should definitely take the time for at least one playthrough.

Holy balls, I remember playing Krondor so damn much. That whole open world feeling kept me glued to my seat for hours and hours. Got it again on gog months, maybe even a couple of years ago, and still haven't replayed it, though maybe I should. Damn what a good game.
