I'm confident in Light no Fire for a few reasons: A) it doesn't seem _significantly_ more ambitious than No Man's Sky, B) their team is significantly larger and they have an actual budget this time around, C) they don't have a AAA publisher breathing down their neck (unlike Sony with NMS, D) every single system in the game seems to have a direct parallel in No Man's Sky, meaning they've already been play tested and refined. I think if you've been paying attention, it's pretty obvious every major NMS update the past couple years has been a direct test of features for Light No Fire (Fishing, archeology, townships, the Corvettes are like the Dragons, etc)

I’d love to see a new type of Matrix Online game. With improvements in game design, it could be very cool to have a split survival element, where in the real world you build & maintain your ship, and have to find safe places to jack in to do missions, meaning if you enter the Matrix in a dangerous spot in the real world, you can potentially get more rewards, but you could be attacked at any time where you suddenly have a desperate scramble to get to an exit. Almost like a survival/extractor type of game. I feel like The Matrix as an ip has been woefully underutilized in gaming.

Terminator: Survivors has been delayed indefinitely, Early Access was canceled, and co-op/multiplayer is permanently gone. It’s now a single-player, story-focused survival horror game only.
I get the focus on quality argument, but losing co-op still hurts. Also, the Steam page saying 2025 isn’t really accurate anymore. Really hoping this turns into a proper, tense Terminator experience and not just a game that tries to copy ARC Raiders. Fingers crossed this reset actually pays off.

As a train fan, I have to agree unfortunately, trains can often be boring. That being said, I am super excited for Railborn. Up until then the closest games I've found to Railborn have been Voidtrain and Zompiercer. Always on the lookout for cool train games. Also I've heard Trans-siberian Railway Simulator is pretty good, albiet a bit janky but I haven't played it myself yet.

SMH your missing Hytale, there's never been a survival game that's as hyped as Hytale and it releases next month, in a very early state they say. but its no less a survival game as Everwind, hopefully better coz I had some negative experiences with what I played of Everwind though I DO HOPE they've ironed that stuff out on release, coz I'm always down with MC esk games

2 Things to note:
- Terminator Survivors has been reframed into a single-player only experience; No longer Co-op.
- The footage from 11: 44 onwards is not from Road to Vostok. Can't remember its name right now, but it's another indie third person survival game. Vostok doesn't feature drivable vehicles or a third-person view.

Are you a Terminator fan Or a fan of Terminator 2 Cuz I'm a fan of Terminator, 2, and 1 sorta, and Salvation, oddly enough. The 3rd was okay. But yeah, I'm not a Terminator fan so much as a Terminator 2 fan, and I've been hoping for another T2, or Salvation timeline, and I just keep getting. not that.
Just curious.

I'm a Terminator super-fan, so Survivors has been on my radar for so long. Thankfully, the dev provided a recent update that it's not cancelled, but they're just taking time to add more polish. Albeit, without the multiplayer mode, so it's up in the air how this is going to land.

I'm surprised StarRupture wasn't on this list. I played during the two playtests and it seems really solid and the mechanic of the sun blasting everything on the surface is really interesting. I'm definitely picking it up when it comes to early access (hopefully in a few weeks.

The will to live mechanic sounds great as long as it's something you casually notice over several days.
I've yet to see survival mechanics feel like anything other than annoying meters to manage, which actually break immersion instead of enhancing it.

Solarbound looks like another version of Aloft (not too bad) and Everwind just looks like a more action packed version of both. I agree, Railborn could be incredible if done right. Personal Snowpiercer just sounds like a blast if you're into survival games.

Hello games have said many of the updates of no man skies are going to be in Light No fire in one way or another. And we have seen that they have and are willing to fix things. So I hope we hear more from it and we don’t get a repeat of I man sky launch

Haven't played long dark In a couple years or so before the new updates and add ons I'm hoping for a much better crafting system tho. One thing that frustrated me wit the game was the limitations of crafting and stuff. Plus the extremely dark interiors

When you ask if Hello Games can pull off the new game scale of Earth, you have to realize that they made a game with a never ending universe. So if they pulled that off I think it’s safe to say that they can pull off a full scale planet.

None of these games will matter because:
1. PC's will be too expensive to build VERY SOON and consoles will die out
2. Cloud based computing will take over, and you will not own a PC, you'll RENT IT along with your monthly game subscription.

Will to live as a survival mechanic is not only interesting and very clever, but also super obvious. Like why did no one think of this before Unless they have an I'm out of the loop. Either way I'm interested to see the implementation.

Why do survival devs refuse to let us have companions. like a wolf the fights or a merc for hire. so many missed opportunities to solve this genres biggest issue. loneliness. and no a cosmetic pet that sits at my base aint gonna cut it.

Road to Vostok is something I will definitely be buying day 1. That and the other game that’s Stalker like that takes place in Argentina.
I actually don’t really like survival games but those two games look very fun to me.

I really hate it when devs name their game after a genre. solarpunk looks cute but I wish they would have called it a different name because searching up the term solarpunk will always have the game mixed in from now on.
