I agree there's a few odd choices with guest character appearances. Unless im mistaken, it's odd that there's no characters that appeared from Resistance, returnal, twisted metal franchises (eapecially since there's currently a successful TV series adaptation of twisted metal on Stan). Thank god no characters from the dreadful Concorde franchise appeared! Yet there's characters appearing from the most obscure 3rd party PS1. games. maybe these missing IP characters will appear in future sequels fingers crossed Asteobot turns into a fully fledged ongoing popular franchise

I mean. it's about time.
Sony doing something that Nintendo has been doing successfully for decades with Mario. The everything is a PS5 thing that this game is doing is a little tacky, but this is the same kind of first-party nostalgia worship that has worked out so well for Nintendo.
I won't be able to play it, though, as I highly doubt it's ever coming to Steam. The most dedicated console type device I bought is the Steam Deck, to make use of the large library of games I already own.

When I was able to finally get my hands on a PlayStation 5 for a reasonable price I remember playing the Astro playroom that came with it for free. I absolutely loved it, and it surprised me. Having that room of all the old Playstation memorabilia and it even had the sounds when you turned them on and off. Definitely got me in the feels, so I definitely wouldn't see why this game would be bad. For $60 though, I might have to wait on this one.

It's not directly based on Astro's Playroom, there has been already a full on platformer Astro Bot game before this one for the PSVR, it's called Astro Bot Rescue Mission, this is what this game is based on and it has very similar gameplay, it's basically the non-VR version of it, including the idea of going on a rescue mission to save the other bots.

Totally picking this 1 up but it doesn't really make sense to me unless i beat the 1 that came with the ps5 1st. Its on the backlog currently getting through star wars. And its probably 1 of 5 of my top games on the backlog as i also want to get through robocop, alan wake 2, baldurs gate 3 and Bannishers so yes should be great when i get time to play it

Putting playroom on the ps5 was imo one of the smartest things ever. When you get a new console you want to PLAY like right NOW and downloading games can take hours so having something fun and easy that was ready immediately was so smart. Im not surprised at all astro got a full game and i cant wait to play it down the line

In an industry filled with lazy devs/games; games that are only designed to milk the costumer; lecture the costumer, and instead of providing fun, seem to drain you, i think this game looks amazing.
I miss games like this. When gaming was about fun, which is what gaming should be about.

I am for sure getting the game.
Before I was a straight Car/FPS Gamer and later tried the Tomb Raider at PS3 aswell the New Super lucky tale. I've been hooked on this kind of games. Played Astro at PS5 and got sad when I finished it.
So this one is for sure a ad to my collection

I miss these type of Games, like this, Jake & Daxter etc I was just thinking we don't have many cartoony looking games anymore.
I love that Sony Did this, kinda like a walk down their history lane. & reason this game got such a high score because it's Fun! Most ppl forget that

Astro's Playroom, despite being almost a demo, is to this day one of my fav PS5 games absolutely brilliant from top to bottom, so glad we've got this full game of it now, and PRAYING it becomes a long running series! Hopefully this shows what gamers want - Astro Bot vs Concord

Sony had the opportunity to absolutely dick on Nintendo and release this for $40 or $50. It still looks great but I have the same issue with it that I have with Nintendo games, that they're smaller games with good polish but they cost the same as big games with good polish.

This evokes the same feelings LittleBigPlanet did on the PS3 back in the days. I'm still sad they killed off LBP, but Astro Bot looks like just a good time. No caveats, just a good old, high quality platformer. We need more of this level of polish and creativity!

Astro is really lining up to be the main mascot for playstation. You of course have all the bigger ones such as crash bandicoot, kratos, spiderman, aloy, spyro, etc. astrobot may not be as big as all of those but it shows the true heart of gaming on playstation

If Sony plays it right. I think the games should be exclusive to ps4 ps5 yk what I mean but not the character. For example if it will never happen but if Nintendo would like to have him in smash then Sony should absolutely take the opportunity yk

This is a magical game. Sony got so much first party just sitting dormant. Hope live service games take a back seat and we get more gems like these.
Wish they bring playstation all stars back. The character roster will be phenomenal

Just good clean fun we all need to support Sony. It’s not the same old shit! Everyone complains that no dev is taking chances anymore with new stuff and here you go! Something new, fun, colorful and makes you feel good.

I like astro bot as PS Mascot. I'll play this when it's free. Cuz I feel all console should have there FREE miscot games. Just the developers having fun. And give love back to there consumers.

Environments are super bland and the whole ad/product placement shit is big turn off. This could have been new apeescape game instead, but that shows how out of touch & coward sony is.
