I hate how they 'ended' Arthas. While it was his power hungry persona that went after the helm of domination and Frostmourne in the first place, it was Ner'zul and, inevitably, the Jailer who controlled him. Anyone the jailer dominated had no choice. they had to do his bidding - just like Sylvanas did to the -The Lich King. - She was enraged at Arthas, but it wasn't him. And at the end, to have Arthas' spirit just -disappear? - I was so disappointed and upset! Sylvanas had a redemption storyline, why not Arthas? Someone who was truly in the grip of the jailer. Sylvanas, while doing the jailer's bidding, was not CONTROLLED by him like Arthas was and she annihilated Teldrassil and killed thousands. then to have Sylvanas give his Arthas' last Eulogy? I was not a happy camper. Yes, the person of -Arthas- had done bad things, but it wasn't really Arthas - it was Ner'zul and the Jailer. WHY can't WoW give a better ending for one of the most popular characters of WoW legend and lore? To have Arthas just disappear like he never existed? And to have Jaina not say a THING when Arthas' spirit just vanished. -facepalm- I have all the lore books, followed every piece of lore in the game. I just don't get it. I just had to vent and lament one of my two favorite characters EVER in World of Warcraft! (My other fav is Khadgar)

The fact that the Jailer was behind everything and that Sylvanas -is the only one- are so dumb, but the parts with Uther speaking with Jaina and Thrall with his mother are so lovely and wholesome. Plus, Elune's -I have condemned my favored children- gets me every time; -; I just want Sylvanas out of the story once and for all, but Uther's words to her were touching. -We cannot change the past, and we may never find forgiveness in the future. But inaction damns us all. - Truly words to live by.
On another note, thank you for this edit, adding the pieces from the cinematics and the phrases from Warcraft in the Uther/Arthas interaction made it so much better, well done.

sighs. just like with pandaria. should just leet it be a 'chill' expansion free quater with just some tasty world expansion but nhoooo must hamfist some more 'hell' or 'its all decided! ' leaning crap and just decide a main character go bonkers. or other tosh. pff, honestly i find the whole crap about making 'souls' something extra special. just derailing from the continuity of the universe basics to, or th whole 'death' is a yada 'entity' in of itself or such. mhe
rad as little moments of Illidans ''screw you fate'' is. they are far and to few between to keep the connection to the original games tone etc

I just watched the end vid of new raid and I honestly can't tell what was the insistence on having sylvanas after SoD raid? I really hope that Dansure guy steps down (not fired - He needs to eat) and have someone else take the lead. Also if rumors that Dansure never read or knew anything about the old lore are true than whoever made that decision to make him the lead also needs to step down. Way to destroy the legacy of your own IP.

I only watched this just because I couldn't be bothered queing up for raids that I always end up being killed in, both because of my bare minimum item level gear. and because of the others not listening to instructions and instead get wiped.
The only reason I go back to WoW is roleplaying with my Goblin, and even that part within me is struggling to keep that candle lit.

Sylvanas is a bloody idiot, the almost literal definition of the worst villain ever and her character is so annoying, keeps thinking she is making her own decisions but ends up just following someone else endlessly, but I do feel like her character before she was undead was cool just because she was a commander and protector to the sun well

I feel like also they shouldn't have tinkered with Sylvanas's story to warrant a redemption arc, but rather just let us know how her soul is split. One of my favorite characters. Had a nice little tear up cause her and Uther's conversation was something relatable and also sad

Everyone talks about how -cunning- Zovaal is, but he's just a generic evil overlord with no development, no motivations, no real character at all. I guess it's appropriate that he turned into a robot at the end. This expansion was the epitome of -tell don't show- which is a cardinal sin of storytelling.

WoW by now is: bad guy appears, either aided from some spy from our side or someone who turly turned before the other expansion, bad guy does bad stuff, we fix some of that stuff, bad guy fulfills their objective to get somewhere, we go after them, they say they will destroy them, we hummilliate their ass.

I liked the ending of arthus. He embraced lichking and jailors control, become a puppet, and had no agency of himself.
The last flicker represented what's remained of his original soul, after stripping the dark influences.
A sad anticlimactic ending of him, yet fitting, in my humble opinion

I've been playing Warcraft since the original on disc, Warcraft: Orcs & Humans. Perhaps the reason why WoW felt so amazing is we saw the characters come to life and we immersed ourselves in the world itself. This was a really well put together video for people to catch up on the lore!
