Ditch digging fans, relax.
This Professor had under 2 minutes to answer about the movie 300. Nothing he said was a direct contradiction, just an over simplification. He said a lot of it is embellishment but there are some things right on the mark then goes onto to give a small number of examples. If he had a whole 30 minutes for one subject I think you’ll find both historians agree.

20: 17 The page has five pillars but he only points out three. The other two specifically are Roman: The Tuscan is made plainer than the Doric (but incidentally more stable, and the Composite which is a mix of Ionic and Corinthian. But the Greeks should definitely get credit for the main three. Shout out to any fellow travelers who have to learn that to the right of the east.

On the Alexandria library question, he left out that when they asked other countries to borrow their sacred manuscripts to copy for their own library, they would do that but send back the copy and keep the original. This library became infamous for that. So when the library allegedly burned down. those original manuscripts went with it.

Diogenes was a leech on his society. If a farmer doesn’t go out and plant crops, what is there to eat Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Hellenistic cynicism, but I cringe anytime someone mentions Diogenes because the very fabrics of society would turn into anarchy if we just lived as a dog on the street.

zoom in, zoom out. zoom in, zoom out. i appreciate the effort of the edit, but doing these quick zooms so often doesn’t make this more interesting when it happens so often to me. just gets kind of annoying.
anyways it’s always cool to hear an expert speak on subjects. thank you

Very informative overall, only thing I can see that is incorrect is that there was a fire in the library of Alexandria that destroyed thousands of scrolls, caused by Julius Ceaser, as described by Plutarch. Although you are correct that the fire didn’t lead to its destruction.

wovel-less alphabet was sufficient for semitic languages due to their structure. today, hebrew, arabic, farsi, etc are still written down without wovels, and that's mosty ok. big troubles come when you want to write a borrowed word in these scrits.

On the top of mount Olympus, in the peak theres the throne of Zeus, it has a shape like the letter C and in the center theres the seat and even has a headrest, it actually looks like a throne on the highest altitude of Greece.

there are mark-of-the-beasted mark-of-the-beasting rats that are 1 meter long in length that not only mark-of-the-beast people but devour people over and over again after mark-of-the-beasting people; hail satan!

Sure, the Spartans had Helotes, like every other place in ancient Greece. But how does that tie in with little boys being sent out of town in 300 Is that an issue with the cut or what's going there

Thumbnail reads like he's accusing me of having participated in the Ancient Olympics. I'd be careful of making such baseless claims, professor. And even if it were true, you'd have no evidence.

1: 45 But the Spartans, according to historians, were good image sellers, so much so that people think the Spartans were very good at war, but in fact they lost fights against Athens.

Just a reminder that Assassins Creed is INCREDIBLY well researched and it shows. I had multiple art history professors use it as visual references, and I use it now in my lectures!

When I was playing AC odyssey I loved exploring all the building and statutes. Watching the behind the scenes video you saw they really tried to replicate all the buildings.

Since it was the Gregorian's that invented the modern calendar a. k. a Christians why not give credit where credit is due by just using BC even Neil Degrace Tyson agrees on that.

What he mentioned about killing 100 cows made its way to Romance languages as HECATOMBE, with the meaning of tragedy or large loss of life. Not very common in English apparently.

I love the fact that, us, modern Greeks, Macedonians, Albanians, Italians, Bulgarians share roots and traditions of the same ancient past, culture and traditions
