Truly amazing. This is how you use technology to break down barriers that divide us. Yes, even non man-made barriers stop us from being connected as a people. The people at Mozzeria do something great and having a disability has just made that dream that much sweeter, now that they can basically operate like a -regular- restaurant.
Great piece WIRED. Keep it up!

How about using android tablets with wireless charging and make the entire table/shelf/counter where the tablets are being put down during the day full of built-in qi chargers? This way the tablets would charge every time they are simply put away, without any hassle.
reply

Why can't they just charge the tablets through the day. It's not like they're outside or something, there has to be electricity all around then. Why they use device's battery, when they're stationary.
reply

Wireless electricity with wireless electricity receivers on the tablets would be a good solution. I don't think the technology of wireless electricity has been widely implemented though.

The restaurant should try to get a system going so there iPads are in the charger all the time, like tiny dock stations at every iPad.
reply

What if you put the tablets on adjustable arms, either from the ceiling or the floor and have them be permanently plugged in.
