Without Thomas Edison, we would have No DC (Direct Current) and electricity would be free flowing every where through Tesla's multiple power towers. For the consumer to safely direct and harness electricity, you need an ACDC cable, and electrical sockets. Nikola Tesla may have been the original electricity harnessing and conducting inventor but he definitely wasn't the inventor of safely directing it to every household -

Edison was only inventor in his early years. After that, he became a cruel CEO, took away inventions/credit from his hired inventors(like from Tesla) and sue anybody to bankruptcy if they were in the way (like the movie studios as mentioned or Westinghouse/Tesla.

Nikola Tesla did not help invent the light bulb. Thomas Edison received a patent for his light bulb with a carbon filament in 1879, before Tesla was in the United States. Tesla did work on a system for street lights that used arc lamps. Although Tesla completed the project, his work was never actually used.

If Edison was never born, the US would be a vastly different country. The only things he invented were belittling intelligence, and stealing intellectual property. He never had an original invention, but instead patented the work of those who worked for him. He is truly a blight on American history.

People here talking like all of the Edison's invention are stolen from Tesla. Guys, Edison was already a big giant in enginnering even before tesla came to USA. Most of the inventions he's famous for were invented even before anyone knew Tesla. Tesla worked for Edison for only few years.
