If Mars were half land and half water, it would likely have a much denser atmosphere and a much warmer climate. This would potentially make it possible for liquid water to exist on the planet's surface, which would make it much more hospitable for life as we know it. However, it is important to note that Mars currently does not have enough of an atmosphere to support liquid water on its surface and it's also unclear whether or not the planet has the capability to generate a magnetic field to protect the water from the solar wind and radiation.

A thought for a Halloween episode; -'What If we shared the planet with Vampires? '-
What's the minimum/ maximum number of humans/ vampires that could be supported without collapse, a la 'Daybreakers'?
How would society function if both had equal human (for lack of a better term) rights?
Could vampires speed up human evolution, or slow it down?
_Could_ it be a symbiotic existence, or the warfare usually shown?
These are my late-night thoughts.

Awesome stuff! I wondered if any reference would be made to the fabulous Red Mars trilogy but I read about 30 years ago. Somehow I don't think they use nukes. :) You sort of did when you talked about how the greenhouse gasses would then allow the possibility of terraforming Mars at the end. I wish I could remember more about that series, maybe when I retire I'll have time to read it again.

Without a rotating core it is all a waste of time. Any work put into putting water will vapourise into space without an EMF. First get the core going then the planet is protected. 2. Pump a shit load of c02 somehow. Thst increases heat with green house effect melting ice- water. 3. Add plants c02 plus plants plus heat and you start to make O2. congrats u have created habitations.

The water boiling away would add to the atmosphere, raising the boiling point until some sort of equilibrium is reached. However, since Mars doesn't have a magnetic field like Earth has, the sun would strip away this new atmosphere, rendering Mars a cold dry airless world again.

Sorry and not sorry to say but this video have no meaning into it at all.
Since that would never happen even if we could terraform planets then we did not want this scenario.

Possibly better idea: turn comets into spaceships. The ice would help protect against cosmic rays and if you could control the outgassing, you could make it more steerable.
