We just need to build machine that interprets our request to give it to machine that works with specific requests. People have lives outside of specific tasks like Gimme coffee and they have priorities. AI needs a hobby to work okay; or another ai that helps it to understand. I think that hobby is more safe, because otherwise people can, and will modify program to do everything to their benefits. well, we'll need ais that counteract ais whose actions can be harmful to our common goal, -survival and multiplication.

I wish that people discussing this in the comments would try to think about it more deeply than movie references. Every video I've seen discussing AI and its impact on society has said little more than this is something we're going to have to discuss. Then the discussion is just a bunch of HAL/Terminator/Futurama/Rick & Morty references, with or without lol at the end.

I believe there should be a limit to how much AI is allowed to do for society, otherwise it is bound to do more harm than good. Take the example of social media. It is harmless when used in moderation but excessive use (like most people do today) leads to dire consequences.

Simple, machines lack conscience and consciousness, I bet 'til the end of mankind our intelligence can't be replicated. AI's will still accomplish tasks regardless of how humane or inhumane its approach may be since it lacks human reasoning.

AI already have effect to our day-to-day lives. It's not something from the future, it is happening now. AI has plenty of applications, from social media suggestion engines and spam blockers to self-driving cars and manufacturing robots.
