I know this is from another country but in Filipino, Mahal means love or expensive. This is why when I first learned about Taj Mahal's existence when I was a kid, as a young one, I naively thought that the marvelous building is beloved because it's expensive to build it.

Shahjahan was TOP G. TAJ MAHAHL is the TOP G of all monuments. that's why everytime a foreign dignatory comes to visit India, he won't leave without clicking a picture infornt of this timeless piece of Art. Like it, hate it. Can't deny it's significance.
