Many times, anxiety creates small nervous habits that creep into your life. You may not even notice them or you dont recognize theyre here because of your anxiety. Those habits are not only bad for your quality of life, but they also worsen the anxiety thats already there. If youre wondering what are some bad habits that come from your anxiety, watch this video and share it with someone who might need it. I'm very aware that I over eat when I'm feeling anxious, It's a nice distraction from those pesky psychotic thoughts. It took me about 10 years to realise that, yes, you are overeating so now when I start to eat way too much I notice it and then I step in and go yes you are feeling like shit right now and that's ok. However we need to deal with the calories you are putting into us, so when you feel better we shall exercise. a lot!
I recently went through one of these cycles when I got bit by something and my ankle swelled up. I eat to stop those thoughts of What if we just, ya know, cut to flesh off? That'd fix it! which I'm like haha yeah no, shhh get back in your box! Now my ankle is all better I am exercising nearly every 10 minutes. Sit ups, The plank, Burpees and shadow boxing are my go too. Over eating is one of my childhood habits when I was feeling like poopy and those aren't so easily corrected or shifted in a way you'd like but noticing you have a problem you want to change is the first step to helping yourself

It happens a lot when i try to study. In the past i always tried to be the best, but as i grow up i realized that my efforts were just being ignored like a you just done what you had to do. Don't celebrate for that, you could do better. So i got lazier. Even the teachers notice i wasn't using my full potential. I was just seeking to pass with a medium grade instead getting a 10. Because the objective is not getting 10. Is just don't get below 7. So i could play and had fun. But no matter what i did. I started to think it's not gonna be good enough. And here i am. Trying to do an online stuff that i kinda like. But i got stuck. I try to do it but i only can make it like 1/10 of times. Considering that i get motivated of course. My mind just stars telling me i won't learn anything because i'm always tired.

My current state of constant anxiety doesn't include scrolling through social media, at least. I gave up social media earlier this year, and no longer read news except when my workplace requires me to do so. Overeating is not a problem for me; I am likelier to undereat, for fear that food will make me vomit. But procrastination does torment me, as does my frequent cancelling of plans through utter weariness. At this rate my job will almost certainly be on the line, and though I devoutly hope that I will not have to endure the shame of being dismissed, I fear the worst in view of my memory and concentration deficits.

funnily enough, anxiety keeps me from putting things off. this is because stuff will dwell in my head until it is done. not to mention when I do have to rush last minute, I panic and can't think and overall feel a horrible sense of overwhelming horror and frustration. I can't stand that feeling and I fear that fearful feeling, so I get my stuff done early to avoid it. I don't like to rush because i am not good at it. I don't like having to rush. I would rather spend longer on something and not rush.
anxiety makes most people procrastinate; it keeps me from procrastinating. funny, isn't it?

Im not too sure if i have anxiety at all but its a little scary to say i relate to almost all of these, especially the rewatching shows part, ive always hated build ups and how it made me act, id get so worked up over it, id have to pause the show and recollect my thoughts before even thinking of going back to it, most of the time i just chickened out because i couldn't fathom reaching the end of the series anyway.

I learned that Anxiety's originally purpose was to keep us alert. Kinda like paying attention to the road, or playing good at a game. It is alertedness, but it feels right. The problem is, Anxiety as we recognize it now is at unbearable levels. I could chalk it up to everyone being overworked and resting properly, but I'm keen to know if anyone's got any opposing thoughts.

Another reason why though we are anxious we don't get up and do it right then and there is simple exhaustion. It takes mental energy to stress, you begin worrying about all you need to do and it becomes overwhelming and you become tired. That feeling of being so tired but not having done anything and knowing you didn't is horrible.

I think my anxiety is more intertwined with change somehow because whenever I get anxious I've realized that I always try to find something new and never think about what just happened sometimes I don't recall the simplest things because I push out everything from the past whether it's good or bad or recent, I don't know what that means

I've been running my hands through my hair a lot recently, I also put procrastination to my depression tbf
Also, I never considered the fact that I was suffering from anxiety until I opened up to my gp about my depression
And lately my anxiety has been getting worse to a point where it too effects my ability to do basic tasks

Does anyone of you have been watching these kind of videos that show us signal of anxiety or something like that? But somehow you try to justify that you don't have those kind of symptoms, why is it too difficult to accept it?
(I don't know if I explained me clarly)
I would like to know what do you think about it?

School has been kind of rough on me. I know its summer but Im always anxious about it. I get bullied a lot and I dont have a lot of friends. I get made fun of for being a nerd, fat, and a wussie. I always kind of feel like Im even bullied in my own family. My anxiety keeps me up most nights so its really rough sometimes.

Ive always had anxiety, but about a year ago it got worse, and I now have lots and lots of food cravings and Im in my room all of the time as well as being on my phone every second of the day. Thank you Psych2Go! You really helped me a lot of understanding of what anxiety can really make us do.

Procrastinating
Canceling plans
Eating terribly
Wanting to do all the things
Scared to do all the things
Scared to take a shower
Leaves out the house at the last minute
Watching the same shows
Impending doom
I wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy

reply

Canceling plans Ive been working on cause overthinking will cause you to abort quickly on any plans, I dont eat when Im overly anxious or stressed. very helpful videos you have to control your anxiety or Itll control you, the mind is a dangerous thing at times sadly
reply

For me when it comes to cancelling plans I hate doing it especially last minute since I worry what people will think if I suddenly say that I wont or cant do it. Therefore I try to stick to these sorts of things unless I have absolutely no choice but to cancel them.
reply

Thank you for the reminder. I think my anxiety is still here somewhere in my mind after I watched this, because there are things that stay with me until today. Now after I identified them, I think I can get rid of them slowly but sure!
reply

Going along with over-eating is under-eating. Sometimes your anxiety can make you lose your appetite so much that you just don't eat at all. This is VERY dangerous. I know from experience. So please don't under-eat either!
reply

Is re-watching shows a bad habit? I really enjoy re-watching shows, it is very fun and you can see things from different prespectives. It is also nostalgic ( i have watched friends 4 times, currently re-watching fuller house)
reply

Thats right I skip college sometimes because socializing is so hard for me. but for that reason I sometimes miss my practicals but inside I think that's okay because I have it all under control. yeah anxiety kicks in.
reply

Anxiety is the last thing on my mind and I don't know what better stuff can come from it all that matters is that I'm still who I am and no one can change me only I can change my self no joke.
reply

Could some of these also be stress-related? Bc Im not a very anxious person but I have been super stressed lately ( buying a car, school, and working two jobs) and most of these signs apply to me
reply

Simply, 1 to 4 are what gets me most of the time. Only 5 i can fight against because the things that are planed to do, are the things that also help me to get away from anxietys for the time.
reply

I do 3 out of 5 of these. I havent socialised in nearly three years & have removed all my friends from my life by choice. I LO cancelled my therapy today because I was too scared to go
reply

When anxiety attacks, i always tell myself that You have to embrace your pain! It will help you pave a new and bright furure
Hope it helps someone too as much as it is helping me
