When you look at a melody how do you know in which key it is composed? This music theory lesson presents a short piece and explains how to determine the key of a given melody. It also talks about modulation to a different key. How good are you at recognising the key of a melody and at identifying modulation? Here is your chance to find out and to build more confident skills when it comes to identifying key and modulation. A useful skill for any musician. 0:27 - A mixture of accidentals 3:21 - Are there any other clues? 4:50 - Being careful of modulations 10:04 - Listening to the melody and thinking about keys

you mentioned in this video not to use ascending and descend in harmonic minor because it creates an augmented 2nd interval. Instead of using melodic minor how would there be any other options to dodge the harmonic minor augmented 2nd if you wanted to use harmonic minor and not use melodic minor?

Thank you again.
Could you please put a video on how you play chords on melody. When it changes, how the bass should move,...
Thanks
