Germans do the PERFECT Electrical Wiring! (Be my Judge)

I will show you how I did the electrical installation in my new garage. That means I will show you the basic stuff like mounting and wiring up switches, outlets, lamps, fuses. But I will also include some more advanced and super awesome stuff like a CEE socket, emergency stop switches and special cable ducts. So let me show you how German electricians do such work and maybe I can inspire you for your next electrical installation. kubiX: You are a bit wrong about power consumption for the 4-pole relay or your datasheet was incomplete. The value that you have shown in the video is a max coil power consumption when contacts are closing. For Hager ESC463 (4NO) according to the datasheet, after closing coil is drawing only 5. 75W not 62. 5W

Im sorry but is it normal to leave the conduit piping short and have a section of cable visible? That looks so ugly and defeats the purpose of piping compared to how its done in the UK. Conduit is terminated right into the enclosure it is going in using couplers, leaving no exposed cable. The way done in the video makes it look half way done, not good I'm sure you'd agree if I showed you examples of it.

If you want to carry long heavy objects by yourself easier just mount a couple of wheels on a piece of plywood and line the other side with some non scratching material like leftover soft carpet. Put one side of your heavy objects on the plywood and carry the other side. You'd be surprised how much easier it is then: )

Small Corrections: The CEE socket can supply 11kW. I wanted to keep it simple and keep the sqrt out of there but that just messed everything up. And secondly the power required by the relay is not around 60W. Maybe something around 20W. I mixed up some values in the datasheet. Sorry.

Nice project and congrats on the start of building your home. My suggestion would be, if time allowed, is labeling your wires at your substation panel. Not sure if you plan on doing that, but it would help for when you go back and add new construction or for trouble shooting.

not much different than a british system i guess. i like those wago connectors and wish it is more easily acquired. i would use different color wire for different phase of electricity though, or at the very least indicate them with electrical tape or whatever method.

Perfect job, except for the fact that you didn't use PVC bends leaving the cables uncovered, and at least in Italy it's not a professional job, as well as being ugly to look at. Furthermore, the various circuits must have a label, which allows their identification.

Argh! Conduits that finish before boxes leaving cables flapping in the breeze always trigger me. Ok you have to use double insulated cables but I just can't understand the purpose of this. If you have to add other wires do you have to change the whole cable?

0: 38 please blur this part. we can never be too safe to prevent thieves from getting your garage key frequency. here you can clearly see the beeps of the light which can be used to deduce the garage door combination. or maybe i am just too paranoid hehe

It s cool to see how wiring in homes in Europe gets done compared to the USA. It seems like there s a lot more customization available compared to panels in the USA. Seems closer to how we wire panels at my work building automation equipment.

hey, you calulated the power of the cee wrong. its 400 x 1, 73 x 16A. its about 11KW. 1, 73 its the german verkettungsfaktor. because you have three phases und every phase can deliver 16A. easy calculation also 3 x 230V x 16A.

Tip for the emergency stop. You can always wire in a small LED parallel to the main and the neutral on the steering side of the relay to show that there is voltage across the LED, even though the relay is not triggered.

Nice setup! This is not for the same situation but when I set up and EMO circuit for an automation device I used a safety relay which requires an additional reset switch before power can be turned back on.

would you consider installing an electric car charger in the future?
Also my country electrical estandarts would scare you alot, from what i saw in this vid, lets just say that we dont use GFCI anyware.

Not that there is anything wrong with it, but just curious. If you are building a house why not put your lab inside? Also do you have a mini-split or something to condition the air?
