DIY 7-Segment Internet Display (Part 1) Stephen: You can make the leds brighter by PWM on the drive current. If you run a quick PWM of 10%, the current only has to be increased about 2. 5 times because of eye persistence to look at about the same brightness. You just need to stay in the low end of the led SOA. Very high currents in very short pulses look very bright even though the average is small. We regularily run red leds at 2 amps and a very low PWM to get very long life, super bright leds for high use road signage.

what are the specs for your variable bench power supply? I am trying to find one and I'm not quite sure what exactly I'm looking for. The one in your videos looks perfect but you said that it is no longer manufactured, do you know where I could get one like it?

Can you start designing PCB schematics for your projects? As well as upload a tutorial for the laserjet method? I have yet to find a good guide for the PCB creation, and most projects have no schematics.

Watching Most of the Great Scott video be like at beginning WOW! , When he is explaning what the hell is going on! -_-
At end that was awesome _ but I didn't understand -_-

you're saying that each segment needs 7v rather than 9v, but i cant't see from your schematic that you step down the voltage from 9v anywhere?
reply

you need to do 8008135 with the mirror thing in the thumbnail.
edit: it wouldn't work because it isn't mirrored the direction.

reply

it looks like your pcb traces for the power are too thin.
Maybe you will have some voltage drop across the 7 stacked displays
