Get real. We as a civilized society are supposed to be the stewards of the planet. We have the power to choose to have or to eradicate insects that are more harmful then not. Crickets that are loud so-as-to even keep other species away from the cricket's own territory at night is an epitome of a planet not prospering. Both crickets and mosquitoes are not actually eaten in any significant numbers by other insects and that argument is baseless. There are thousands of non harmful insects to choose from and crickets are not one of them. I will keep talking about this issue always because we need to be a better society.

What a fantastically shot and narrated video! I've been really interested in insects, and specifically their stridulation, recently, and I was blown away when I learned that crickets and katydids have files and scrapers. I'd known that they rub their wings together to generate sound, but never questioned exactly how it happened! Since finding that out, I've been looking at images of the structures and trying to find videos that show stridulation in detailyours does that absolutely perfectly! Well done!

I dont mind crickets as long as theyre outside my house, for me their chirping helps me sleeping and if they stop chirping I know theres a potential threat nearby, since I live in a more country side area

Good god. I was sleeping less than 5 minutes ago. I woke up to the irritating sounds of a cricket on the floor right next to my bed in my room. It was like an alarm clock in the middle of the night.

I love how the males have no idea where the females are. they can only hear their own genders. leaving it totally up to the female to decide if she likes what she hears. or not.
