You should open your mind up a bit more, your comment about magic made me want to comment with this serious statement. Science and magic are pretty much one in the same, magic is typically the term you use when you yourself, the one to whom is in observance of whatever -magical-, unexplainable, event in order to separate it from what is able to be understood and taught. I am divine, I have done magical things I can't 100 percent explain nor convince, it seems, that I indeed possess intangible gifts that are as hard to believe as they are to attempt to formulate theories in order to make sense of it all for myself. Keep up the great work though, I really enjoy the stuff that is published by the whole Complexly family. Have faith.

I'm sorry to say, as you also said Mike, 'Roman Mythology' is sort of a joke. -
Greek god Zeus was raised by animals too (as were other heroes/gods elsewhere I'm sure) before the Romans even started copying the Greek culture, not to mention this forced made-up connection with the Trojans; they were people of the East, who spoke a language we don't know a lot about, and they definitely have nothing to do with the European peoples, one of whom were the Romans.
Latin is clearly a European language which actually draws a lot from. Greek (surprise) and not from the Luwian (probably) language of the Trojans, although both are supposed to be part of the IE languages.
P. S. I too was waiting for Atlantis! -

I-m sure there are time constraints, but the Roman story ends too soon!
The Sabine Women aren-t just victims, but actually broker peace, and are the ones who really end up civilizing the Romans. I just finished a video on it, which I made because they don-t get nearly enough credit!

Actually, the word for -she-wolf- could also mean prostitute, in which case, it might have been a hooker that nursed Romulus and Remus.
Now, in terms of the -less glamorous-, it should be worth noting that a good many of those stories were records/interpretations of past events.

Thinking of Jerusalem, with oases on the brain, I could also think of an oasis like area gone dry and filth. and then rejuvenated, and also snow. another reason why ancient mythology could be so essential for human survival.

Jerusalem's archeological records show it was a Persian province before Rome invented the abrahamic religions. There's no archeological evidence of a place called Israel or a people called Hebrews until Rome created it.

2: 44 Actually my mechanics professor at university says it may well have happened that way, the walls were likely made out of packed clay and the right frequency of loud noise could actually have caused it to crumble.

It's not just this video, well not really this video, but they sort of make fun of some religions. No hate, crash course is awesome! I guess they don't really understand all religions.

Rome: A city founded by the murderous bastard son of the god of war and made to be the home of criminals and populated via raping visiting women. Wow that's very dark.
