A minor correction: Glucose component parts are not used to produce ATP. Instead, the energy released by breaking down glucose is used to form ATP (from ADP and inorganic phosphate. The glucose components (together with some oxygen) instead end up in carbon dioxide and water. Or if you are out of breath; in lactic acid.

I REALLY wish that in talking about autoimmune problems with the endocrine system, Hank had mentioned that Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune disorder, not something caused by eating a bunch of cake.

My friend doesn't just have a dysfunctional thyroid, she straight up doesn't have one. She has to take supplements to keep her alive.
