In which John Green teaches you about the Bronze Age civilization in what we today call the middle east, and how the vast, interconnected civilization that encompassed Egypt, The Levant, and Mesopotamia came to an end. What's that you say? There was no such civilization? Your word against ours. John will argue that through a complex network of trade and alliances, there was a loosely confederated and relatively continuous civilization in the region. Why it all fell apart was a mystery. Was it the invasion of the Sea People? An earthquake storm? Or just a general collapse, to which complex systems are prone? We'll look into a few of these possibilities. As usual with Crash Course, we may not come up with a definitive answer, but it sure is a lot of fun to think about. You can directly

We have physical proof the Mediterranean Sea was halfway up the pyramids yet no mention of this catastrophic flood can be found. Since there are no records about the disappearance of Mediterranean civilizations, there may be a connection. Most likely, the high water marks on the pyramids were the result of a 130 meter high tsunami that would have wiped out every living thing near the coastline. Such a sudden and complete elimination of people is about the only way to create a blank spot in history. Anything that happened over time would have been written about by someone. The loss of everyone that could read or write would have made it very difficult to communicate what happened. And few witnesses remained to tell the tale. Also the total loss of so many skills would imply a clean sweep or some survivors would have taught others. The fact that everything had to be relearned suggests that no one survived and that is only possible with a tsunami.

Geologists, historians and archaeologists are walking in the dark as long as they deny ancient books like the Mahabharata and the Popol Vuh, that tell us that Earth is suffering from a cycle of natural disasters. That recurring disaster causes massive floods, earthquakes, firestorms, and a bombing of meteors. It leaves a layer of mud and clay on the earth, several feet thick. Such a cycle can only be caused by a heavenly body that approaches the Earth with long intervals. That must be Planet 9. These disasters create a cycle of civilizations. If you don't know this cycle, history is incomprehensible. To learn much more about the cycle of civilizations, recurring floods, and ancient high tech, read the eBook: -Planet 9 = Nibiru-. The problem with most of these theories is, if it happened over time, someone would have written about it. Some people with specific skills will survive and teach others. The only way any major event happens without any record is if it comes and goes quickly and kills everybody. Earthquakes, fire, disease, hunger, volcanoes, storms, war, trade and others cannot do this. Two events that can are massive tsunamis and floods. One clue is provided by the pyramids. They were tall enough to leave saltwater witness marks on the casing stones halfway up the sides. This would be well over 200 feet deep. This too, happened without record. Coincidence?

First off, any 'trade network' is going to be 'interdependent'. That is the very definition of a trade network, so saying will destroy our civilizations like back then is no more 'real' today, then it is on any other day in all of history where trade actually existed.
But second, what you have done is made a powerful argument for nationalism and LESS interdependency between nations, particularly in light of this Chinese Wuhan Virus attacking us and making disruptions in our trade structures.

What caused the collapse? There was a pandemic, a fairly mild one as pandemics go, which they would have survived pretty easily. However, they made the mistake of responding by shutting down their economy, and -economy- means -production and exchange. - Little did they realize how difficult it would be to start back up again. What was supposed to be a brief hiatus turned out to be impossible to reverse. Welcome, Dark Age!

I've found the Bronze Age collapse very interesting for years but our current crisis (speaking from June 2020 in the United States) has really reignited my interest in the topic anew. I'm a buyer, and so I have an on-the-ground perception of the global supply chain and I'll be honest, I am mildly horrified at how fragile it is. It's unnerving to see how delicate the strings that hold our society up really are.

Many say maybe were the Myceaneans after the Troy war went around and distroy citys but this is not truth, maybe they were Minoans that they were excellent in navy. but again is not possible Minoans never dit this. the other thing is maybe they were Aliens! Thing about it, no civilization named this sea people is a litle bit bizarre at those times every historians knew the tribes.

Hi, John Green!
EDIT: Buys an overpriced, underperforming, underfeatured computer from a souless globalist corporation that manipulates, lies to and steals from its customers, whose products are manufactured by slave labor in a communist dictatorship with no democracy, human rights, or rule of law. So your computer kills Tim Cook?

Egyptians: We got rekt by Sea Peoples.
Modern Archeologists: What killed these people? Earthquakes or famine?
Egyptians: Bro, we just told you.

-The Mongols were the only barbarian invasion that showed the ability to, single-hoardedly collapse a civilization. -
The Huns: -Am I a joke to you-
