I believe godfather also means a person who made a influential push to gain the field mass popularity. Like Tolkin is the godfather of Fantacy Science Fiction as we know and enjoy it today. And it is true, Stan Lee was a Legendary man and the Godfather of Geeks because a hundred years from now people will still look back and remember him fir his work and influential reach to bring people from such a negative place to a recieved norm. Because if his contribution to the field I can be proud to be a geek like my father without the negative stigmatization that my father received before me.

In pop culture, Stan Lee is really and always will be Stan the Man. Icon. He was his own brand. Stan the Brand. I was surprised in reading the book Supergods that Stan didn't think that he rather looked down on comics. I hope that he changed his mind, because he had a worldwide impact.
