So I just bought a 2004 Toyota Sienna XLE FWD with 162k on the odometer and was wondering if it is worth it to replace all of the suspension parts myself right now or wait till they need it? It makes the clacking sounds when hitting bumps so I was told lower control arms which may have bad joints. so again is it better just to take care of those now so that I won't have to worry about them for a while? Also this van had a discrepancy on the car fax mileage but it would only appear to be 30k off. If I just get all of the fluids changed and the timing belt/ water pump changed should that be sufficient to see trouble free miles for the next 100k miles?
Also when I got it, it drove nice and felt like new and had a really clean engine bay(compared to my '98 Jeep Grand Cherokee. For 3000 I think it was a steal.

If you're mechanically inclined and a grown man get a decently used non turbo ford flex, prepare to change an internal water pump(or engine swap) the engines and ride are still to die for when proper it's a hell of a deal for a broken one or private seller you can get one.
I can see how someone who does not want to work on cars may not see the advantages but really
-late model
-huge
-high mini van layout
-cool(subjective it's much more reliable and widely made than range rovers)
-safety, ride quality
-features top notch if you don't want a huge touch screen
-AWD option

Driving a 03 white corolla to this day. It was my dad's and ended up buying it off of him for 2k in mint condition still. Needs a new paint job but because it's white it wouldn't be so bad. That car is smooth and one I'm willing to keep forever and will likely want to mod m. Doesn't hit hard in the acceleration until you press it all the way down then the car will quickly gain speed. Tbh it's fun to powerslide on the corolla it was made for powerslides but it's very fun compare to a 98 Celica and a 92 Foxbody I used to drive. And the gas mileage on that baby is good

0: 46 Scotty in The Netherlands you can buy a new hybrid battery for 1800 (including labor. I feel like you just dont like hybrid vehicles. The Toyota Prius is a very well made car and the batteries rarely need changing. And if you change a battery it will be good for at least 8-10 years. There are ones that have a million kms on the orininal battery.

I think Toyota has failed trying to push new designs too hard. It often backfires when you try to push things too hard. Good design is clean lines. They should care much more about reliability in their cars then in pushing new designs. As it is now, their new cars are both unreliable and ugly looking, in my opinion. Not the way to go.

teslas are heavy. weight wears wheel bearings, ball joints, bushings, tires, more easily bent rims in pot holes, aalignment problems, depending on hard you bash the accelerator, the driveshafts, and braking regen motor wear. i dont know, plenty of things to wear out. crap resale value too and the elephant in the room the battery pack.

My dad liked Ford and Chevy in the 60's too but moved towards Toyota and Honda in the late 70's. He now mentions Toyota and Honda as the two current most reliable manufacturers, though not a fan of the latest models as best era for Toyota and Honda was mid to late 80's until 2006. I also agree with this view as well.

I own a 2015 Camry and a 2003 Caravan. The Camry is flawless after 36k miles. No surprise. The Caravan has had issues, it is on its second transmission, but I really can t complain (I am the original owner. 194k miles and still running strong. I drive it way more than the Camry due to my job and it runs great.
