Also one of the most overlooked things with fuel mileage is tire air pressure driving around on flat tires will significantly reduce fuel mileage not to mention poor tire mileage life some years ago I had a friend who all of sudden started getting really poor fuel mileage he thought someone was sifening gas out of his car so he bought a locking gas cap no better so I took a look at his car and found that somehow his parking brake had gotten applied and there was no indicator on the dashboard he said that he didnt notice it making the car act more sluggish that was because the car had an automatic transmission and he normally never used the parking brake a few weeks later I ended up having put new brake lining on the the rear axle of his car the state live in practically anyone can get a drivers license and auto repair shops loved it because people were driving around with their foot on the brake pedal and clutch pedal allowing them to more brake jobs and clutch thowout bearing replacements and a person can screw up antilock braking system driving around with their foot on the brake pedal.

Hey Scotty I had one of my mechanic friends run scans on my SUV and he said there was no codes coming back but on my 2018 rav4 when I go to accelerate sometimes it will have a delayed reaction then jump from about 1 1/2 rpm to over 3 rpm so I was talking to my friends and one recommended disconnecting the neg terminal and turning the key to discharge any residual power left over to help the computer reboot. If you have time Id like youre advice on what I should do since I dont have any warning lights coming on oil changes and regular maintenance is done and Im barely at 30k miles and Im not due for a trans fluid change yet. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you for your time and thank you for making the videos.

The computer in my 16 Passat would recognize the type of gasoline it was running and adjust the engine to accommodate. You had a noticeable increase in torque and horsepower when filling up with premium or race gas versus regular. This turbo engine was designed to run on regular as well. It was one of my most favorite cars and I will miss it. Now Im in the newest VW Atlas and Im even more in love Got any information on this newer model Scotty? Id be interested to know whats hiding in it for me Thanks for he content my friend

Hey Scotty. My fiance has a 2009 Chevy Aveo5. Her check engine light will pop on. When it does, its almost like the accelerator cable is disconnected. If you hit the gas hard it will rev and start going again. I have researched the heck out of it and apparently the throttle body needs to be replaced. We currently dont have the money for a new throttle body. Is there any kind of quick or temporary fix that you know of?

This video might very well have told me whats happening to my 07 Chevy classic. It runs when it wants to, sometimes I can pull out somewhere and itll light the tires up, other times I can pull out and itll fall flat on its face and is just extremely sluggish. Ima have to check some of the things you mentioned. I also notice fuel being forced out of a valve on my fuel rails every once in awhile when its acting up.

Amazing and fun video Scotty, thanks for posting it. Just want to mention you missed one cause for very low mileage that is low tire pressure. I know it fron experience living in Peru where the roads are bad and you get nails in your tires often. One tire at 19 psi instead of 24 makes a big difference. I learned it with my 82 Honda Prelude.

Scotty, Cain sugar or hi fructose? Lets not forget about the clogged fuel injectors. Then Remember all electronics will run within a voltage of + or - 10% but when its more you got problems. A 12 volt battery with one dead cell will start your car 10 volts but the electronics will have problems.

Hey ScottyI have a 2012 GMC Sierra 4x4, 5. 3L. I put a K&N filter in it and havent noticed much of a change. if any. Do you think I would go back to the stock AC Delco vs this K&N? I get roughly 330 miles on a tank of gas, 22-24 gallon. Id like to be over 400 if possible.

What if you have a slightly bent wheel from a bad winter with lots of pot and iceholes? I got. 2017 Civic that suddenly got an average of 1 liter higher fuel consumption from the original 5. 6-6. 2 l/100kmStill got my steel rims on cause it took time to melt.
