Over the years Ive hit a bunch of deer, just the way it is around hereYears ago I was driving home from the auction in my little Suzuki Samurai and I see some deer in the road, slow to a crawl and bang one comes out of nowhere and runs right into my passenger door. I get out and I got a big dent and the deer a small buck is laying there dead. I pick up the deer and toss it in the back and drive the couple miles homeI get there and yell to my wife to come see what I got, she tells me its still aliveI tell her no way and I grab its hind legs to toss it out and I feel the legs tighten up, toss it out on the ground and it starts running in circles bawling Wife yells to get a gun and shoot it but I had big vicious dogs and they are going crazy now and about to come out the windowsSo I ran into my blacksmith shop grabbed a 2 lb ball peen hammer came out and hit the deer in the head with that. took care of the problem Just glad it didnt wake up while I was driving down the road

I can tell you exactly what happens when you hit a deer. 2 years ago, I was 17, and cruising to my girlfriends house in my 1973 Datsun 620 pickup. Got it when I was 14 from my grandpa, worked two under the table jobs and fixed it up to daily when I was 16. Kinda ratty, rusty, and lowered 3 inches, but my pride and joy none the less. Only going about 35 and then BOOM, I slam on the brakes and can no barely see over my hood as I see a deer slump over about 15 feet in front of me. Goodbye core support, bumper, hood, whole front end. Boy was I an upset m/f and I still am. Drove it still but still sucks to see all the blood, sweat, tears, and elbow grease that you were most proud of get destroyed and no way to fix it under liability insurance. Nothin you can do for a deer besides hope it doesnt go through your windshield. RIP to my ol rattlebang, best daily ever

im sorry, i should have taken more pics of my 2000 gmc somona. it looked twice as clean (esp the engine area. dont ask why. it just was. n his is newer too. weird how his is newer n looks worse lol. n im from nj. most of our cars are rusted lol. i can credit that he had the Real matching cap. rare to see. all the same as mine was. but i was 2. 2 auto rwd. and i did the upgrade radio. everything else similar. i miss my old pos truck lol. ran a bad trans for over a year n it kept moving: D. u need to show that truck More love. paint that under rust dammit. i have basically 1 good pic of my truck now. the last pic b4 i traded it in. if u dont abuse that truck. at least from my trucks pov. it will hold up quite a bit. ive upgraded to a tacoma now. it was a good truck for the moment.

Just before I moved to the Philippines, my friends wife hit a deer a few hundred yards from home. My friends are both target shooters and hunters when time permits. While replacing the grill and a turn signal on the old Crown Vic, my buddy looked up at me with a silly grin and said, yeap, she got her deer early this year. Where you have really big trouble with these incidents are the times deer come through the windshield. If that impact does not kill the animal, you have a live wild deer with sharp hooves thrashing around inside the vehicle as well as broken glass. There is a good reason deer crossing signs are placed on roadsides where deer are known to cross. All drivers should exercise extreme caution at those places, it really is no laughing matter.

I hit my first deer January 1999. It came from the left side and its head hit the grill and LF headlight, and its body whipped around the left side of my 1988 Plymouth Colt and the animals #2 sprayed all over the left side of the car. A county patrol officer stopped right away to give me some piece of paper she said would help me avoid getting a ticket for no headlight. I went straight to a car wash to spray the poop off. The poor half grown deer died in a painful way. I like animals. I had an identical red Colt I got the parts off of to fix it.

I hit a deer a few years ago in my Tundra. It was during the rut and it ran right in front of my truck; it was like going over a brown speed bump. I was going about 35 mph. It did about 7000. 00 damage but was still driveable. The worst thing was that long after the damage was fixed stuff kept turning up on that side of the truck that was broken, like the headlight assembly, clips and fasteners etc. Inspect the repairs really carefully after youve hit a deer and dont discount it as not much of an accident if youre shopping for a vehicle.

18 years old in Central NY, I hit a deer at night while driving a 1977 Pontiac Lemans. I was hoping to get some venison, but by the time I got out of the car with my hunting knife, the deer was already crawling out of the rhubarb patch(ditch, and scampered away as I made a lunge for him. While laying in the ditch (rhubarb) I noticed the right side directional lens got cracked. never fixed it. and I starved the rest of that winter.

I once had a deer run into me. A deer ran across the road in front of me. I stopped in time, but the deer that was running behind the first deer had a defective braking system and ran into the side of my truck. My insurance kept insisting that I ran into a deer. I had to explain that the deer was the party at fault and it was a hit and run, as the deer did not give me any information before it ran off into the woods.

Even if I get to be a millionaire one day and be able to buy all of the expensive cars of the world, I wont want them to sit in my mechanics garage for fixing 25 out of the 30 days of the month. Ill like them to be in my garage and at my disposal whenever I need them. Thats why Scotty is spot on and does a great job when he lets us see all those old runners in such a great shape.
