How to Replace a Power Steering Pump Wischi: Sadly the lines that were eaking in my car bolted into the steering gear that is located right under the axis. So I couldn't replace them without disassembling everything and I don't have proper equipment for that. Had it done at my local mechanic for 800, could've gotten the parts (including pump, excluding cooling line that is alright and easy to replace) for 250. Would've loved to replace it if the lines would'nt end somewhere I can't get to, as I've already removed the pump to replace my thermostat.

i did ps pump replacement twice. if you have ford, it is the real pain.
First of all, it is a pain to remove and putb serpantane belt, but tre real game begins when you try to pull out a pulley from shaft. Yep, i used pulley remover, but it was so hars, and i had to use an impact wrench to screw it out. Finally pulley remover was cracke, but pulley removed.
You cant use fire wrench, becouse this pulley is of plastic but with steel insert.
To install pulley is much easier. you need 3/8'' bolt and impact wrench

ChrisFix I been watching your videos since you got first the driftstang, and I have 3 more video suggestions for you, how to install a fire suppression system, how to put bed liner paint on your truck, and what's it's like racing at the lemons race

Chris, I have been playing with mechanics for about 60 years and I would just like to compliment you on your informative videos. You try to cover most problems people encounter with the best solutions. Well done lad and keep up the good work.

Master please tell me one thing.
My lovely car's power steering fluid is leaking. Mechanic said it's a oil seal leak. Does I have to change the whole power steering rack or a oil seal replacement can work?

When I did this on a 2007 Taurus, I still had a weird growl noise and ended up having to connect a vacuum pump and that got rid of it, just in case someone has a noise they can't get rid of, try that.

It looks like you don't use any wd40 or pblaster on the rusted bolts. Why not? Great video! Just had to replace the water pump on my younger sisters truck and it was a similar pain to this haha

little advice, if possible have the wheels off the ground when you're turning the wheel to get fluid in the pump. It takes the stress off the pump and makes the steering wheel easier to turn.

I literally thought I was watching one of your older videos because I remember from somewhere that you or someone else have talked about an endurance race before and selling interior trim: P
