There are often covers over option ports that are not supplied with lesser versions of cars. By using a depress on/off rather than a toggle switch you could mount the switch to look like a car option button. This way you could mount the kill switch in the open without it looking like a switch. Pressing the switch every time you start and stop the car will look natural even if someone is watching point blank. If you really want to fool criminals you could label the switch as 'Job Application or something they would never touch.

You should add a horn to blast the thief with a embarrassing loud Siren noise while the motor starting the crank noise as well. Or a voice alarm that repeats SHOW US YOUR HANDS over and over. Lol How about a loud Shotgun Racking noise and a Rottweiler barking and growling.
You could mess with some car thieves heads with that. You might want to lay down a Drivers side seat cover, cause it will be messy.

I repo cars for finance companies and then bring them to a local car lot. I always remove the fuel pump relay to keep them from stealing it back. It takes seconds and it also lets me know if they tried to get it. The car will crank and run for a few seconds without the relay. If i crank the car and it does not run, they came in the night and tried to drive it off.

Do you need to have a specific wire depending on what car you have? I bought an 04 mustang from someone ages back and when we put in a new battery after it died the killswitch wire smoked up and almost caught the car on fire. Don't have the car anymore but I wanted to put a killswitch in my new truck after my dad's got stolen and stripped

It's funny because the one time I did get my car stolen was by a tow truck for a company that is actually a borderline Chopshop. The one car in the middle of a lot early in the morning, gone. I only knew about it because someone happened to turn and notice the car as it was being hauled away.

Pressured gas that is left in the system will allow the car to start until the gas is used and burned. so the thief may be able start your vehicle and move it a short distance. I'd rather install the kill switch to cut power to the ignition.

Hey I just recently installed a kill switch in my 99 civic. And not my car dont start. Battery drained really low. I can hear the fuel pump turn on but my engine only cranks. Any thoughts on that. Please and thank you.

Great idea! but, i think I would rather put it on the starter relay. Some dumba thief would just keep cranking it until the battery was dead. If the switch is on the starter relay it wont crank at all.

My pops had a early 80s silverado. He had a killswitch installed. The electric window switch had to be pressed down to start the truck. This was in the 90s. I thought he was a genius for this. Rip dad!
