Hi, Uncle Coolie! Here in France it's 6: 50 pm. I decided long to follow you on long drives a whole day, and was ready to wake up as early you did, for a complete day trip. At this time, I prefer to chose some road stages, because I don't have many days off for. So, this Saturday (I worked that morning, I first chose a step drive of your journey between Colby and Kanorado, Ks: what is impressive is the skyline, and these so endless straight empty highways.
Then, I decided to go to California, and got on your car in San Luis Obispo, to Aptos. I gave myself a rule: sticking to your schedule(considering to Europe time of course, and respect your pit breaks. I think they are so short that I just have a few minutes for a coffee or whatever. When I drive long, I often stop for any reason!
By the way, I was a bit lost when you drove through the timeline in Kansas: what should have I done
I'm sorry I'm so talkative, but why did you drive away from the coast and drive along the 101 I enjoy it all the same: the hinterland countryside is so beautiful, far from endless highways! As about Big Sur, no comment, just feast for my eyes!
Shortly, Uncle Coolie, I do enjoy all that you upload, and I ve really been waiting for a real time East coast. My only drive experiment in the US (in October 1988) was between Boston to Lewiston, Maine, through Portland. One of my aims was to see the Stephen King books's sceneries, and to enjoy New England, so great in October! My friends were living in Dracut (near Lowell) "Taxachussetts", as they said. Actually, that's right New Hampshire was cheaper, according to them.
OK! It's now 7: 30 pm in France, you are back on the North 1, the landscape is just awesome. I could hear you crumple some paper: are you eating Please, stop! I want a bite to eat too; nothing for me before Aptos
!
One thing sure, thank you so, so much for all your perfect videos and all your work, you don't do it in vain, I enjoy a lot!

Hi, Uncle Coolie!
Like I had some time this afternoon, I got on your car near Paso Robles, and was your passenger as far as and along Big Sur. I stick to my rule matching your time to yours. So, once I'll have to get up early for other stages. before the big one: the real four days trip, providing I can get four days off, and ready to stay home during my holidays.
In this drive, I enjoyed the landscape diversity, from Fort Hunter Legett to the Pacific. This was a real live geography lesson. I can understand why the Californian hinterland is rather dry, because of the coast ranges bareer. How fast the landscape changes, when driving through Santa Lucia Range! Before that point, the landscapes are pretty familiar to a Frenchman like me, because of the Hollywood films and series. One funny thing I must point out: when I was a kid, I was an absolute fan of The Little House in the Prairie, supposed to take place in Minnesota! I was very disappointed to find out "Walnut Grove" was nearby LA. and Southern Minnesota a huge wide corn belt!
Anyway, your videos are really soothing and get me zen attitude. It is said it's "slow TV". And I enjoy it our crazy world. By the way what's cooking about East coast Do take your time, and enjoy me and all your followers with real time trips!
Tell me your secret, so as not to groan all along your trip: when driving, I spend my time grumbling and talk to myself
Once again, thank you so, so much for all your perfect work !

Enjoyed your Washington DC to Seattle trip, now getting into this one. Thought the San Diego to LA part was a bit of a snooze fest but north of LA it gets much better. Made it to Grover Beach but its 1am so that's enough for today. Real time gets my vote over time lapse. Stuck here in Australia and will probably never get the chance to do a US road trip even though it is on my bucket list. So thanks for doing this, it is very much appreciated

i've only ever had 2 dreams, 1st was to be a rockstar ( and almost made it, but i had a kid at 20 so i put fatherhood first, 2nd was to either live or just visit america, but when i watch unclecoolie vids i get emotional because i'm 40 and will never be able to afford to just visit america let alone live there, so dream number 2 has been flushed down the toilet too, excellent vids tho, keep up the good work

All of these clips are from Poland: 0: 33; 0: 43; 3: 03; 3: 57; 5: 50; 7: 51; 8: 13; 8: 30; 9: 59
This video should be titled "A summer in Poland": -D
I swear our storm seasons are getting more violent each year. We're getting supercell thunderstorms, derechos, tornadoes etc. weekly during our late spring/summer months. It's just crazy. I've been through 3 tornadeos myself in the past 10 years.

My family and I have been in USA, and now we are in Middle East (Iraq. So, we’re always missing the road trip and in fact we drove part of this road when we traveled from Montana to Redwood National Park to San Diego in 2015, so if you we want to feel that we are in that road again we just see you videos, so thank you so much to let us see what we would like to see again.

Seemingly at the beginning, you were going through the rush hour. Usually in Korea, workers start working from 9 am, so rush hour starts past 7 am and lasts until late 8am. Do US workers go working earlier than that, or is it only the case for people living in pacific time zone to catch up with eastern time zone

I would agree with Northern CA having more to offer than So CA but that doesn't mean they're aren't some nice and interesting parts of Southern Cal also. I prefer Southern Cal more for a winter vacation to get away from the cold and snow of the Northeast, most of the rest of the year I would do Northern CA.

How do you make your videos go at different speeds like with the West Coast videos you're going in slower motion normal speed that it would take if you were in regular driving situation and other videos you make it go fast like with the trips you take up and down the east coast

Kind of neat to see part of your trip is the same route my daily commute used to be before the pandemic has made me work from home. I miss driving through Huntington and Seal Beach during the evening commute as the sun set. I don't miss that roundabout though!

Next time you go through Pismo Beach, do not jump back on the freeway 101 so early. Go through Shell Beach and get back on the 101 at Avila Rd.
