This south indian food video covers the Matunga locality of Mumbai where you can find some of the most authentic south indian food Here is the list of best south indian food I had in my video - 1) UPMA PODI at Cafe Madras Cost - 62 A south Indian food breakfast porridge made with semolina / rawa, vegetable and southern spices like mustard seeds and curry leaves. Served with coconut chutney. The one at madras cafe also has a sprinkle of malga podi / milagai podi powder and it's made using desi ghee. My utmost favourite and it's a must try Location - 2) MYSORE RAWA DOSA at Ram Ashraya Cost - 85 Crunchy dosa with a spread of spicy mysore chutney, onions and green chillies. Served with coconut chutney and sambar. Utmost delicious, mysore dosa is also the favourite street food of Mumbai Location - 3) KANCHIPURAM IDLI at Idli House Cost - 40 Soft idli flavoured with whole spice and enriched with dry fruits, served with coconut chutney and sambar, loved the flavour of cloves coming through Location - 4) APPAM WITH STEW at Arya bhavan Cost - 95 Fluffy thick rice crepe served with vegetable stew made with coconut milk. Extremely comforting combo meal. Location - 5) BISIBELE BHATH at Anand Bhavan Cost - 55 It's a south indian khichdi made with lentil, rice, cashews and vegetables. It's served with fried rice papad. It's unique as it's flavoured with whole spice, tamarind paste and curry leaves. Location - 6) SIWAIYAN PAYASAM at Krishna Boarding Cost - 30 A classic south indian dessert made with milk and vermicelli, enriched with saffron and dry fruits. Some versions even have tender pieces of coconut. Hi Priyanka, as usual very nice video. Mumbai has SO many udipi restaurants but Matunga is most famous: -) Can I correct you a little bit? It is Bisibele bhaath and it mainly made in Karnataka. Kuch kuch sambar rice ke jaise hi hai. And payasam in South is kheer in Hindi: -) dono same hain koi farak nahi hai.
