I really appreciated this review, I am loyal to United as it is my Hometown airline In Noel's southern accent but so many improvements to the polaris cabin could be made. The hard product is great, but the food is always no more than good not great, especially the breakfast. It is always poor. The amenity kit is fine, and the lavatories are the same as those in coach. I still enjoy this product and will always fly it, but I definitely agree improvements can be made

Always had one set of cutlery when I've flown for the last 64 years (maybe a second knife for the bun, butter & jam) so I don't find it odd. I do remember being impressed by those chromatic windows on the Dreamliner when it was first announced to the world but the fact that the crew can shut them down (& not completely by the way) has motivated me to avoid flying on a 787 at all costs. Besides, I have heard the glue comes unstuck now & then.

Hi Noel, another great vid bud. On the cutlery bizzo, yeahhh its all about weight. Interesting fact, research was done a while back, and it was found by Qantas, on a 747-400, if you place a 5 gram sugar satchel on the aircraft and leave it there for a whole year it will burn an extra 5 tun of fuel. That includes all the holding, track extensions and what not. Its a bit like carrying extra fuel, it costs fuel to tanker fuel.

ya really need to learn how to speak Aussie. Gday say as Gggg Daayyyyy, not with and I. When saying Australia, pronounce Awstrail-Ya. Sydney, just refer to as Shit Knee (in one word not gap) and Mate, may at. Hope that helps. Love the vids and very envious of the life you lead, well the flights and stuff, not the hours it takes to produce the uploads. And Air NZ lounge is the go in Shitney if not able to access Qantas

My wife used to worked for the Kitchen at United, i. e. finance arm of the catering operation, in Houston. As one of your poster stated, it is all about the weight, i. e fuel. The fuel is a major operation expense, especially in today's oil price. As much as we like to use different cutlery for each part of the meal, airlines try to strike a balance between dining experience and operation expense.

It's been a long time since I last flew (to Spain) and have been watching your videos for a few weeks to prepare me psychologically for a long (for me) trip to Turkey and they've helped me immensely to normalise flying in my head. Flights have come and gone and didn't have any massive problems with both flights so I'd just like to thank you.

Got offered UA LAX-SYD after my NZ flight copped a huge delay. Really enjoyed the flight in Polaris. A good seat. and food that was very nice and basic (Can't stand food poncery) And yes, LOVE the Sundae. the FA's seem to enjoy making them too. Just have to - sigh - chase up the Status credits/Airpoint dollars from the flight.

This is my usual floght from Australia to Houston. Its actually 17hrs long. In economy its not that bad if you get at least theseqt next to you open. The flight attendants were not so nice in my flight. Food was above normal but definitely for the price, ita worth it. United's app and reservation system is one of he best!

Being a Star Alliance member and having that close partnership with Air NZ and Virgin Australia you’ll find that the Singapore lounges are often busy in Aus, especially Sydney and Melbourne. We have a bit of a soft spot for Singapore Airlines here in Oz, which goes back a long way. Def a favourite.

14: 14 I find that really annoying that you can't stare out the window and wonder at the world so high up, at your leisure, when they dim everyone's window. It's like they're trying to take the poetry and agency out of your voyage and experience. Seems par for the course with corporate capitalism ATM.

Drivers not using indicators.
Hang on, I thought you left New Zealand They've never heard of them over here
Have you given the Qantas Sydney to Dallas flight a go I don't think they insist on sleep time that early, usually once you fly through darkness they dim the lights.

Hey Noel I love that take off out of Sydney, at least in first class its metal cutlery. A trick I use is to wipe the cutlery between serves with hand sanitiser on a napkin. Makes it clean and fresh. That first class seat looked comfy and clean, helps when the jet is new of course.

Respected Brother I fear GOD and always speak the truth. GOD sees everything. Please, everyone, consider me your Own sister and help me. I am in a very, very difficult situation. After GOD I trust all of you. I very humbly request you to help me in you can to my troubles.

02: 39 Noel's comment reminded me of a joke, some Boeing 707s were called transformers because they taxied as quadjets, became trijets during the flight, and landed as twinjets.
A twin-engine aircraft crossing the planet as something absolutely trivial is quite impressive.

Great visit, Noel instead of you rather poor Aussie accent which is a very difficult accent to do for others including most actors
I think you need to cultivate your southern Texas twang is she still sound like a northern lad from old Blighty

Great video Noel!
I have now seen several videos where you and others have flown with United internationally in Polaris Biz Class and now I feel like I am inclined to try it someday!
Cheers mate!
What a fun video!

I'm trying to plan a virtual round the world in 80 hours, using a twin engined AIRBUS A330-900. So I'm hoping 2 engines is enough, but I suspect the plane will do it, it's whether the biological, single engined pilot can keep up with the plane
reply

Not even that big engines he says. Very funny. If you stand in front of one of those engines, you will be so small and feel so miniature. And for a fact about the 78 engines actually, it can fit a whole fuselage of a 73 in one engine

Noel whatever you do, do not fly into EWR anytime soon. I work for United and all of our Newark flights other than the morning outbound Newark flight have been canceled from my airport. It is a complete mess in EWR right now.

Ooh, I love United Polaris! The wife and I had it SFO - HNL! Yeah, domestically isn't much, but it was awesome! The 777-300 loos are HUGE! Hopefully will be flying Polaris to Europe in a few years. Looking forward to your next video.
