Fun fact. The most requested preselect meal on a Delta flight is a cheese burger. it’s comfort food to a lot of Americans and a classic American cheeseburger is usually a meal international travelers flying into the U. S. want to try at some point during their travels. Also shake shack’s beef is supposed to be quality beef so that was the reasons for the partnership not because they were trying to go cheaper on meals it’s because that’s what was being asked by passengers. U still have the option to select the other meals that r curated by chefs in the city of arrival so it’s not replacing anything but rather enhancing the options. But yes, in comparison to the top international carriers they are the standard however the difference is because they actually have different standards of service with also more crew members working a flight. There is no minimum crew they have only maximum crews with every flight they work being every flight is an international destination as opposed to shorter domestic flight from U. S. destinations. Their planes r equipped with the equipment to provide those kinds of meals and they are staffed with a larger amount of crew members to do provide it n because the U. S. carriers fly to way more destinations it’s harder to make the level of service consistent across the board with a 2hr flight vs a 10hr flight so the standard is set to what can deliver a more elevated service with the amount of crew n time provided with a level of consistency. Other international carriers r also owned by the government like Emirates so they have different work rules in place that are different from U. S. carriers rules n policies. With that being said, they are trying to improve the service which is why a lot of changes have been being made n premium lounges have been opening up.

Jeff:
It doesn’t matter how simple oh elaborated your videos could be, they’re always super informative, very precise and always awesome.
Thank you for always taking the time to put them together and keep us all well Informed at all times.
You and Suzanne together make the videos always very entertaining and fun to watch; I enjoyed the dollar store video as much as this one as well.
Maybe that burger might be the beginning of something new and better when it comes to first class dining for US Airlines to improve in that particular department.
And by the way, thank you for showing that beautiful and elegant blue Movado watch. Gives me good ideas for a new one since I’m getting a green Tissot watch this Christmas.
Wish you, Suzanne and your families a beautiful wonderful Christmas time ever.

LOL! It reminds me of the Private Aircraft $100 Burger flight some of my pilot friends do/did here in CMH and I got to go on one time! My old co-worker (Pilot, I was an FA) had a Cessna and we flew from Bolton field in Columbus, Ohio and flew up to Delaware Country (30 Min flight) and had a burger at the tiny municipal airport restaurant that had really good burgers! All ya had to do was pay for the $100 Fuel bill! He was also an instructor and I got to fly the plane for a hot minute! Thanks for the videos! And to see you and Miles was awesome! Love him and love how he mentions you in his intro. RESPECT!

One of my favorite videos from Jeb and Suzanne! It was a little gimicky, but I loved that about it. That burger in the sky looked amazing and the flight attendant sounded absolutely awesome. To go the extra mile to toast the bun separate is a huge bonus that I'm sure most people don't realize or let her know how awesome it is. I love to hear that people like her are enjoying their jobs enough to think about the customer, especially when it comes to food and air travel. Well done Jeb and Suzanne, take a bow! Thanks for sharing this with us. =)

The salad is typical of BOS catering on DL: unlike most other DL stations, BOS is catered by Do&Co (I believe BOS, DTW, JFK, and MIA are the current Do&Co stations, which is generally better than the caterers DL uses elsewhere.
You also missed the chance to use the newish SkyClub in BOS terminal E: the trick for that is to clear TSA at the new checkpoint in E (which has the new scanners: no need to remove electronics from carry-ons. That said, the A satellite club is still one of the better ones in the system.

Merry Christmas.
Love your videos.
Am a retired tour guide and still get a lot of travel information.
Recently i have been getting information from several companies about fractional ownership of business jets.
You estimate how much business or pleasure travel you are going to do and buy executive jet flight time from the company. A business jet without owning the jet.
Could be a video for you to make. They have their own terminals and lounges across the USA and a fleet. of jets

Off topic: it shocks me Americans don’t usually use cheese-flavored dips with their fries. I mean a good ketchup is okay, but a cheese-flavored dip Heinz makes in the CIS and maybe in Europe is a golden match for any fries. Never been to the US but it’s definitely NOT the macaroni cheese. If someone’s interested please try with either Cheese Wiz Dip or with Chedar Chipotle. Gotta be a takeout I guess since it would be hard to find a joint offering them as a dipping sauce

I think it’s kinda smart move. anyway, is shake shack fast food It’s freshly grilled usda meat. I think they’re a step ahead of BK or Mcdonalds.
But the most brilliant thing here is customer knows what they really are getting instead of some mystery burger where it can be dry or terrible. Gourmet burger might have too many variations is quality and presentation whereas fast food style burger brings confidence and repeatability.

I love how this is such a big innovation yet you have to preorder and its a limited selection on limited flight routes yet Qatar, Emirates, ANA, Qantas, etc all have amazing food options that are about as fresh as you can get. I know it's domestic vs international flights. Granted smaller planes and whatnot but still its crazy how little stuff like this can have consumers go crazy when its the standard on other global airlines

I am loyal Delta flyer and this is not a first class meal however is probably better then most first class meals I have had on Delta. Delta first class has gone down hill and wish they would learn from there partner Virgin Airlines on what first class service should be. There first class is far superior in my opinion.

People need to realize most domestic first/international business passengers take these flights regularly. Once you’ve flown enough, you start going for comfort food. It’s not always about the lounge, champagne, and steak. So if delta can provide good quality shake shack you bet it’ll be a hit.

I'd almost think Delta should offer Chick-fil-A out of Atlanta. American could have Philly cheesesteaks out of Philadelphia. And Ivar's out of Seattle! For Canada, hmm. Maybe Swiss Chalet. that would be pretty sweet! And seconding the other comment I saw about Culver's out of Chicago.

I'm a flight attendant for a different carrier who offers burgers on many of our flights in business. It is THE SINGLE MOST ORDERED item on all of my flights. And we have 5 options if you order ahead. So to those saying no one wants it. they do. THEY REALLY DO

For a while (maybe still) some United International Flights had the arrival snack as beef Wellington. It was a cheese burger fully inclosed in a bun (no slice, like a burger that jumped magically into a bun with no way to get there. It was DELICIOUS!
reply

Qatar Airways do a burger night snack with 3 mini burgers that I've had 1-2 times that was really tasty. If you spend time in a business class lounge for a few hours and have a late night flight that comfort foods is exactly what the doctor orders: )

As someone with limited means, I love to watch your videos and live vicariously through them, especially ones like this that show unique and less common topics than other vloggers I watch. You and Suzanne are great presenters!

I have to say, Shake Shack is probably the one fast food option that I wouldn't mind having on a flight (I personally prefer their mushroom burger- but that might be difficult to prep with aircraft catering.
reply

I’m surprised that there’s demand for a burger but also happy to hear how good it was. Altitude affects taste so that burger in Boston could taste a bit off with a cabin pressure of 7000’ or more.
reply

Miles should have loaned you the diner sound effect for this video! I’m curious if this delta/shake shack partnership will lead to more partnerships between airlines and restaurants

I have been flying so long that all pax got a choice of meal, first class was just a lot better. Bring the food get rid of the WiFi and let’s get back to flying.
