Giant Breakfast at Home-stay: - 100% Real Durian Chips - Order Here: Joel-s Channel: Mon Jam - Located just an hour from Chiang Mai city, Mon Jam is an amazing mountain village known as Mon Jam (, which is predominantly home to a Hmong community. One day, along with my friend Joel, we decided to take a drive to Mon Jam, enjoy some amazing scenery, fresh air, and delicious local Hmong Food from the mountains. #Thailand #travel #Hmong We started off, and first enjoyed the amazing views and viewpoints once we arrived. Then we headed to the market to walk around. First we bought some fruit - they have a great selection of less tropical, and more fruits that need elevation and cooler weather to grow - like melons, citrus, and egg fruit. Fruit was incredible. Located at the Mon Jam market, we went to check out a restaurant in the parking lot. The ladies were extremely friendly, and we asked if they could cook us a local off-menu Hmong meal. They cooked an incredible selection of local dishes, including plenty of vegetables from the mountain, a chicken soup, and probably my favorite dish - a chili dip with lemongrass, chilies, and herbs to eat with blanched vegetables. Total price - 440 THB ($14. 03) including a few dishes not shown in the video Di BOSCO Coffee Specialist - One they was back to Chiang Mai, we stopped at Di BOSCO Coffee Specialist, what is easily one of the best coffee shops in Thailand. The atmosphere, the location, and the coffee are all superb. Samoeng - We took the long way to drive back to Chiang Mai, also so that we could have a circular route. Along the way back, we stopped quickly in Samoeng and visited the local market. Visiting Mon Jam makes a great day trip from Chiang Mai - offering fantastic views of the mountains, and some delicious local home-cooked food

It's funny your first bite of that chicken with herbs was the herbs itself hehe. I mean the herbs tasted good also but most of us would only eat the chicken and use the broth over rice. But from what you have there it looks to me as if it's meant for health more than the chicken. Depending on what types of herbs they put in there, it could do a lot of good things for your body health and is very beneficial. From what I could tell that pink herb that was in the mixed herbs is to help the body expel bad things like died blood in the body. This dish could be eaten regularly or for health purposes when needed like post pregnancy to expel and replenish the body. Just thought I had to share since no one mention it.

I have watched you for several years and I have always thought that you do your research so that you can always show the food and the culture as it is and in it's best light your friend Travor James i remember from when he went to outer Mongolia he lives more on the edge while I never wish him ill it is funny when he gets something that isn't quite right and he still lives on the edge lol

We can see the summit of Mon Jam from our house. The market was not so busy in august when you were there, but luckily for the local restaurants and vendors it is now beginning to get busy again with local tourists. Many of the shops that looked closed when you were there are now reopened. And the coffee shop you visited is amazing. It is always worth a stop for local brews.

That chicken and herb dish is made specifically for women after labor for 30 days, however, anyone can eat it at any time. It have a lot of herbal benefits. Typically made with Hmong, Thai or free range chicken.
Now I want some.
