In todays vlog we start our Aulani trip series! Finally, yay! We start with our pre travel day where we get packed, run some errands that we needed to do before the trip. We rented a new lens for the camera and Tim needed a haircut, then we head to the airport to check into the Hyatt for the night. We had a really early flight so staying at the airport just made everything a bit easier. We give you a quick room tour, eat some dinner and head to bed. The next morning we head down to the airport and hop on our first flight to St. Paul, Minnesota where we see snow! It was so neat and it was Jacksons first time seeing snow too, so it was special! Then we get back on a plane and head to Hawaii! It was about a 9 hour flight and Jackson slept most of the time which was great! He did such a good job on the plane flights, we were so proud of him. We arrived in beautiful, sunny Hawaii and then we head to Aulani where we give you a tour of our 1 bedroom villa. We had a long travel day but we cant wait to share the rest of this amazing trip with you all!

Funny story. When I heard Jackson furiously playing with the beeping buttons on the safe in the Aulani suite, I had a complete flashback to the most mortified I've ever been in my life. I was 10 and my parents had surprised us with a trip to Orlando. We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel and it was just the coolest experience of my young life. Well, our first night there, Mom and Dad put all the traveler's checks and wallets in the room safe. I started messing around with the buttons and accidentally reset the passcode to the safe. M&D call down to front desk to explain the situation, about 90 minutes later, there's a knock on our hotel room door. Dad answers the door and stg it's a man in some kind of military uniform with like, a black canvas briefcase full of all this high-tech equipment and he hooks all these things up to the safe and after the tensest five minutes of my life where I am ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN I'm going to prison for playing with the buttons on the safe, he says Got it. Opens the safe and just leaves. To this day, I am not entirely convinced HRH didn't conspire with my notorious prankster dad to scare the bejeezus out of me and teach me not to touch stuff.

Ive been to a lot of airports, but I swear on my life coming back to the Daniel K. Inoue airport every time is my favorite thing its beautiful in there and I love my home so much. I hope you have a wonderful vacation in Hawaii and enjoy Aulani! We dont have many attractions like in California and Florida, but the beauty of the island more than makes up for it. I may be a little biased (cause I live there) but I feel Manoa falls/trail is one of the most beautiful (and easy to walk) on the island. 0

Tip: For anyway staying here, there are plenty of convenient stores in the surrounding area (if you have a POV do your shopping there) or there is a Country store right across from the resort, that sells everything you need, from a deli section (great wholesome menus) to essentials (way cheaper than the resort prices)

Jenn: And there was NO blanket! Tim actually got a towel. Five minutes earlier, Tim doing a room tour And here are EXTRA BLANKETS, in a neat little case. Guess they forgot about those pesky extra blankets (Clearly visible on the shelf as they were talking about there not being any blankets)

Could you give an overview of the Covid vaccine/testing verification you had to take before your trip or at the airport in Hawaii? Im going to Aulani in a couple weeks and am a little confused trying to figure out what all I need to do to avoid the 10 day quarantine.

Hah, the Trackers had a layover at MSP? 7 degrees is cold, but the high temp on new years day was -2F and had to shovel snow that morning at -10F. It's fun seeing Floridians come up in the miserable months, at least you made a quick escape to Hawaii!

When i was little on my first trip to disney i got to go up to the cockpit of the plane like you guys did. Hopefully one day when jackson is old enough to remember it he can do it again because that was one of the coolest things as a kid.

Question: how come Jackson is still using the rear-facing car seat? I thought months ago it was said that he's getting too big for that? Plus since he's 2 now, I thought it was safer to switch to a forward-facing position.

I literally just stayed at the hotel at MCO and OMG so convenient. The bell staff even carted our 8 bags directly to the check in counter for the airline! And yes, the HNL airport is my favorite airport in the whole world.

Good thinking with leaving a day ahead. My parents have done this when we, Britt and I, traveled as kids. So much easier and it's great for people like my parents and I who are NOT morning people. Lol
