For tourists: Be mindful of what you put in your pockets, purse, or backpack. It's hot! VERY very hot and things like a bag of M&M's or some aerosol cans (especially bug spray left in car in direct sunlight) well you get the idea. Pro tip: put a few water bottles in the freezer overnight and the ice will melt throughout the day leaving you with ice cold or slushy water to drink, & it really does cool you off when your clothes are sticking to you from sweat.
Orlando tourists: For the driver- use GPS, follow those directions and KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD! Especially I-4, there's always construction, the road has sudden lane shifts and lots of potholes that can send a small vehicle into another lane at 70mph. Orlando residents tend drive more aggressively, and 98% of us will NOT let you slow down to 30mph to switch 3 lanes on the highway because you're about to pass your exit! So plz stop looking at the pretty buildings or cool structures, if that stuff interests you, trust me- get off on International drive! Lots of cool stuff, buildings, shopping, restaurants, etc. You can spend a whole day just walking on I-drive (don't forget your water)
Lastly, if you do see an alligator- this should be common sense but we have one or two a year, PLZ DO NOT APPROACH IT! It doesn't want to take a selfie with you, it doesn't want your food, it doesn't even want to bite you but if you get close, that gator will feel threatened and they run surprisingly fast!
Have Fun Enjoy yourself, but don't push it if you're feeling sick or overheated, your body/ health is more impt

Yeah the part about driving is unfortunately true. Way too many people here dont respect the speed limit and just drive however fast they want. Worst part is that the cops barely enforce the speed limits. Best advice I can give for visitors is to just keep up with the flow of traffic. If people are going 70-75 in a 55 mph zone, then go with that flow. Its safer that way anyway. Drive carefully!

I agree with your last tip. FL is southern, don't let anyon tell you otherwise. But it isn't in general the Deep South. ( There are some small towns in the north though) The S. East Ft. Lauderdale/Miami has little to no True Southerners. But the rest does have true Southerners to some degree or another so don't forget your manners!

I always thought of the bridge on US 19 over the Anclote River--just north of Tarpon Springs--as the de facto border of The South as a region. South of that bridge, the culture is more tropical/Caribbean-influenced. North of the bridge, it has more in common with Georgia or Alabama than it does with Tampa or Miami.

I never wear sunscreen, well not never, but its extremely rare for me to. I dont get burnt anywhere but occasionally on my face, which I definitely should be putting some sunscreen on at the very least. I also dont go outside that often because its too hot and humid, but I still love it here

Many years ago, back in the '90's we went to EPCOT. Got there fairly early. Walked to Norway. was disappointed the ride was closed. wait, It's open? But there's no one in line? We were the only two people there, and had the roller-coaster to ourselves. Those days are gone, I'll bet!
