One really fabulous USA tourist destination! Historically, New Orleans has always had a top heavy government, which allows it's citizens and visitors to ignore their duties and responsibilities. The result is traffic insanity. If you visit, please show your appreciation of New Orleans' superb music and hospitality, by being on your best behaviour and following ALL traffic laws. If the residents and visitors of New Orleans ever accept their social responsibilities, Americans would fall off their chairs, knowing that New Orleans streets, adults and communities finally became law-abiding, ethical and conscientious. Imagine!

Dude! you missed the World War II Museum, the Confederate Museum, the Cabildo, the Jazz Museum, and the other hot party spot that is NOT Bourbon Street. a line up of no less than five major music and bars. Check Point Charlies, Snug Harbor and more. also how can you miss Rock N Bowl? But I see your point. too many things to see.

If you're short on time, a cheap, quick river cruise is the Canal Street Ferry to Algiers (and back, of course. You are very close to the water and you get a great sense of the power of the River.

Question: where is the best place to stay? We're renting a car so it won't have to be on Bourbon Street. We want somewhere close to Bourbon street but cheap! is this even possible? lol Help! :)

We always take our visiting friends and family to Cafe Du Monde, the French Quarter, and on a swamp tour. New Orleans has the best food (especially seafood, music, and architecture. =)

New Orleans may be the only city in the country where 100 French surnames, 100 Italian surnames, and 100 Spanish surnames will be found within the family trees of African Americans.

Just left NOLA and I love every part of it except the people begging for money. So many con-artist and beggars makes it almost unenjoyable.
