The Best & Worst of Berlin for Tourists. From amazing museums like the Pergamon and Bodes to the fantastic outdoor spaces of Tiergarten and Wannsee to the history that fills the city of Berlin to the not so great parts of Berlin

he didn't say a lot of things about Berlin, like the fact that the people can smoke inside pubs and clubs which is shamefull (we are not allowed to do that in Italy since 2000) and Alexander plaze sucks, a big commercial centre was erected beside the square, and there nothing to see there. Pozdamer plaze was destroyed in second world war and all is new now, with nothing to see apart a museum of modern art. Anyway the museums are great and of course the social life shoud be great as well (though I didn't experienced it too much)

I love everything that is Berlin. People say that Berlin is over Capitalist now that the wall has come down. Berlin is now Cosmopolitan. and its ever changing city. what we found and loved. the average Berliner would look at me funny. when i was attempting to spk German. they would look at me and go. mmmmmm your accent is weird. where are you from. ummmm im from Australia. bang. they are more than happy to direct you to where you want to go. thats what we found. cant wait to return. 2019. Love Love Berlin. xxooo

Right. Berlin is far from German. I'm a Wessi and I live here. Most Berliners are former East Germans. Remember we used to call this place Communist East Germany. It still is. The Communist identity will last for generations. They're still entrenched in it. Wessis, me (60 years) are not welcomed. Introduce me to two Germans. I'll tell you who is a Wessi and who is an Ossi. You'll meet many East Germans who left for West Germany after the wall fell. They came back. They found out how German they aren't.

I've just got back from 3 night break in Berlin. Here's my list.
Good: Great beer, lots to see, fascinating history, cool bars, great place to walk, fantastic public transport, cheap flights there.
Bad: Lack of public toilets, we saw quite a few rats on the streets, I was attacked by an homeless man, lots of drunk tourists.
I'd definetly go back.

Berlin is just soooo delicious. that a revisit is scheduled at the end of our trip in 2019. we first came to Berlin as 3 travelers with separate agendas. 2017 is when we first hit German soil. 2019s revisit. is going to be about my partners love of museums and gardens and my love for beer and learning about the wall. Berlin is the center of all Europe. xxoo

You should do a tour of all the Jewish owned buildings the German Government stole after Reunification in 1992 for the 3rd time since the 1930s, including my mother's building in Prenzlauer Berg. All legally stolen like the Nazis by their Minister of Justice, Sabine Leutheusser schnarenberger and the Minister of Finance Theo Waigel. Crooks.

hi, i mostly agree on you list. only one objection: 2nd hate; you mentioned about restaurants from different cultures like we cannot find classical german food in berlin. it s not! actually, i see this as a positive thing, because you find different cousines at very affordable price at one place. so, in short: berlin is great!

Kind of sad that he complains about capitalism, yet he has to teach marketing at a university to make money. In this system we are trapped and there is no escape. And sometimes we have to do unethical jobs that make more money because we have no security of what will happen in the future to us: (

Berlin rocks Ive always felt its a home away from home. The hospitality and transport is second to none. Ive stayed in hotels, hostels, apartments ranging from sublime to ridiculous. There is something for everybody and yes I agree the museums this city has to offer are fantastic.

Thats the thing with New York to. A lot of people say New York City has sold out. If you want to see evidence of this, go to Greenwich Village. Gentrification his totally exploited the neighborhoods character. Despite this, New York is always been the greatest city in the world.
