Positano is the most famous and iconic village on the Amalfi Coast, the spectacular strip of coastline with the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea to one side and the peaks of the Lattari Mountains to the other. The coastline stretches for 60 kilometers (37 miles) south of Naples (Napoli) and north of Salerno in the southern Italian region of Campania. The entire Amalfi Coast is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with highlights including Positano as well as the equally picturesque towns of Amalfi and Ravello. Take a dip in the crystalline waters off the coast, admire the dramatic cliffs by sea on a mini-cruise, relax over a romantic dinner overlooking the water, and stroll along the narrow, twisting lanes under a lush canopy of wisteria and lemon trees. These are the unique charms that make Positano one of the top destinations in all of Italy for those who want to sample the country’s timeless la dolce vita atmosphere. Where is Positano Positano is the first town you reach on the Amalfi Coast when arriving from Naples, and it's about a 20-minute drive from the Sorrentine Peninsula and about 30 minutes from Capri by ferry. After Positano, the next towns are Praiano, Conca de' Marini, Amalfi, and the other villages along the coast. You can reach Positano by bus from Sorrento or Amalfi (there are two stops: La Sponda and Chiesa Nuova. There are also ferries in the summer from Sorrento and Capri. Positano, a village built from the bottom to the top of an Italian hill on Monte Comune, in the province of Salerno, by the sea. It is absolutely breathtaking to see these houses one above the other because at first glance we only see these houses and no more vegetation, when in fact there are citrus gardens and palm trees. During your walk in the village, your steps may take you down a sloping lane and at the end you see the sea, and just like many visitors, you will have the impression that the lane falls into the Wed, it’s really surprising! Visiting the village requires courage for some and in addition to wearing good shoes, because it is made up of numerous stairs or steps that cross the streets. We can sometimes feel oppressed as the houses are so close to each other and so high. Despite these faults for some, Positano has a charm of its own and proof of this is because the village, in summer, is crowded with tourists and artists have made it their place of creation. Positano, thanks to its port, was a flourishing village in the 16th and 17th centuries, then the inhabitants deserted this region to go to the United States to experience a better life. The village lived only from its fishing then tourists arrived in the middle of the 20th century and since then it has drawn its main wealth from tourism because its coast is one of the most beautiful on the Amalfi Coast. Faced with the influx of rich tourists, luxury boutiques are set up on the street and the village is experiencing a surge in prices which does not make the inhabitants happy. On the village square Piazzetta des Moulins you will find the church which is mentioned in the legend of the Madonna. I thank you for watching, please excuse my breathing, I don't do it on purpose, health problems , see you soon in other unique places, be blessed, I love you all, peace to all, with respect, Sebastian

Wow, how perfectly quaint, cute, picturesque. Like a picture postcard! I could probably find a place looking like this in the USA in upstate New York, in New England. Then go twenty miles down the road and find something just as good, but completely different. Then the farther I travel I'd find more and more strikingly different, but just as entertaining or picturesque, hell even greater opportunities in the variety of places to see and be. Hey I'm not knocking Europe or any other places, am glad this place and all of Europe and Asia exist. BUT, But, but I can quote a thousand former Europeans I've heard or read what they said describing the contrast of or about living or a result of their ancestor's moving here - Of course having to dismiss all those whose elders were kidnapped and brought here against their will. But all of those who've settled here practically all agree they are and have been so grateful for the ability they or their people people created by living here. where we have to greatest choices, yes God willing, Freedom to experience the best in all the world - Best only because of the choices we got. Of course that doesn't account for all of the A-holes you might have to put up with when you get to the place of your dreams, but you'd have to deal with that everywhere! Wow, so inspirational - got all that as a reaction to your video, thanks. Thanks for reminding me how blessed we all are.

I just came back from the Amalfi Coast. Positano is beautiful. But I found this beauty along the entirety of Amalfi. Positano, Amalfi City, Ravello, Minori and Maiori are all gorgeous. If you want to avoid crowds and get a sense of the local living. I suggest visiting the other towns, Especially Maiori and Minori. Maiori has the biggest beach and a calm tranquil vibe. I felt Positano has been over run with the Tourist commercialization. Go a few towns down and you can find the same stuff, cheaper and made by the locals. And i Also Uploaded video for tourist may you all guys enjoy it

Fun fact: Bus drivers honk before going into a turn/curve so the oncomming traffic knows that there will be a bus on their side of the lane. Driving there was crazy. Our bus was overcrowded and one woman had to vomit. My wife and me were close to vomiting ourselves. We were really doozy and had a big headache. Going there in the summer is crazy. Too many people. It is a beautiful city if it werent for the people so I have seen way better places than positano.

Used to hang out there when we were kids living in Naples. Military Brats. Gorgeous place. Not so compacted then. We would hit up
all the US Female Vacation Tours. The rich girls sight seeing Europe. We were the poor stranded boys in Europe. We slept anywhere out
under the stars or be sneaked into a hotel room by some debutant. We were Kings in Paradise. Than back to the States. What a Shock!

I have visited Italy many times since 1971. Venice is my beloved watery city with Diadora Sportswear as my license - I would ask them to pick me up in the evening so I could venture into Venice. Rome is the only other place during those 50 years. ALL THE BEST TO ITALY! . from my home in ' The City of Angels, Bangkok '

What a beautiful place! At first glance, I thought that the car chase scene in the latest 007 movie No Time to Die was also filmed in this small mountain town, but after checking the information, it was not the case! A little disappointed.

its look like alanya turkey, but here to much sea traffic and not much sand beach, l think alanya is still more naturel with lots of nature and miles of miles sand beach.

What an inconvenient and dangerous place this is! I don't believe people pay to visit this remote village and voluntarily have all the unnecessary troubles.

it looks like a a horrible place to live.
Beautiful views, beautiful beach, beautiful hills but hideous buildings and hideous amounts of people.

We visited Positano this July and it was great to see this beauty. I recommend going in May or October as summer is extremely hot and crowded.

Ick - would NEVER want to live there.
You build a place in paradise, and everybody turns up.
I wonder where the sewer outlet is

Looks like a huge open air store where everything is for sale. So many unfit people walking with flip flops on. What does it smell like
