Watch out for California exodus media hype. People are not fleeing California, they are getting pushed out. All of California’s problems are caused by OVERPOPULATION. California is the most populous state in America. We have more people than the entire countries of Australia and Canada. People from all around the world and within the US want to move to California where they compete for access to high paying jobs and quality housing. Over the last 40 years, this increase in demand for California residency coupled with the limited supply of housing has dramatically driven up the cost of living. Unfortunately, the more people that move into this state, the more people get pushed out or simply become homeless.
The 20 million California Native Born are not causing our overpopulation problemit is the result of irresponsible Californian policies that allowed for the largely unregulated settlement of 10 million people from other countries and 10 million people from other states.
If you want to save California, please do not move here. And if you already have moved here, please consider moving to another state. California has exceeded its carrying capacity. We do not need anymore people living here. We’re full.

CALIFORNIA SUCKS! I left the state 15 years ago and am now happier and invested in a friendly growing state. Even though a was a vehement Liberal when I lived in California I slowly woke up when I was no longer immersed in the conformation bias of Cali. Over the years I have realized the Liberal and sometimes downright Socialist policies have ruined the state I once loved. Virtue Signaling with its self superiority-GOOD; Cancel Culture with its inability to discuss issues with civility-GOOD; Ideologues who vilify and hate anyone with a differing opinion-GOOD; a Myopic Centralist view of a state and moreover a nation-GOOD; anyone who Disagrees or dissents-BAD. Just maybe the Liberal movement that started out with open mindedness and good intentions is unaware that it has become possibly more suppressive and harmful than anything it replaced. Yet I doubt any Liberal acolyte in California would be able to reflect on policy failures without spinning the truth and blaming others

Many who move to Texas, won't last long there and will move back west or elsewhere. Texas has the most corrupt state-government in the southwest. Left there in 1986 and have been in Oregon for 33 years, yet there is no accountability in rural Oregon, whatsoever, pertaining to public safety and highway-safety. Oregon state government, across the board, is the laziest and most unaccountable government west of the Rockies. It is lawless and seriously lacks education, and per-capita, it's far more racist than Texas could ever be. I'm leaving this Summer and it's beautiful country here, and would be a great place to live if it weren't for the ignorant, racist ruralites. It's behind the rest of the union by about twenty to thirty years, and if anyone wants to argue about it, save it, because I frankly don't care about other opinions, as I'm writing this comment based on my general experience here. will give those owners of the future hefty profits and tax breaks. Nancy Pelosi's district
alone is a dump. But that's the surface. It's the now high tax scene. The view will
improve with wealthy owners and so will the cost of living. Those leaving now may
never afford to return to what was once home. 'They' want the land and the profits the
future will bring. What is Real Estate. Location, Location, Location.

The best kept secret in California is Fresno, Ca we have our issues but it's no where near LA/SF cost of living isn't as bad either. My wife and I have talked about leaving but not any time soon. Please do a video on the Central San Joaquin Valley we may not have oceans/beaches but we have lakes, mountains and agricultural as well as a nice blossom trail. Folks from the north and south don't like us politically we are not even considered they even take the water from our farmers and send it into the pacific ocean instead of letting us have it to grow good to feed the homeless. Yup you heard right the politicians in this state are running it to the ground.

I left California in 1996. Grew up there but it was time to leave. When i met my husband there (he was visiting family. We married after two months and i moved to where he was from- Dallas, TX. Never regretted it and in fact so thankful! I raised my kids here and we have a prosperity in all aspects of our life here that i don’t think i would have had in California. I could already feel the materialism and arrogance of Californians in my early 20’s and couldn’t see my living my life there anymore after graduating college and working there. I can’t imagine how much worse it is now there.

My friend who was born in California and was a wealthy woman. but she bought a house in Prescott Arizona. Sadly she found out she had cancer and died before she could move to it. she was a lifelong California girl lived in a beautiful home overlooking the Pacific in corona Del Mar. It broke her heart to think of leaving her state but she couldn’t stand the politics and taxes anymore. It’s hard to fathom that they just did a recall for Gavin Newsom and yet he remains the governor.

I left the Sacramento area in 2010. Moved back to Texas, only regret is that my stay in California wasn't longer as I was there to help my Mom. Not sure I could even afford to do that today if she was still here. Loved my time in California and I still try to visit every year. No regrets on leaving though. it's gotten much worse since 2010. Politicians need to pay attention, it's not sustainable. and the crash is coming, if it isn't coming in waves. Like the waves of people leaving.

I left California 27 years ago and moved to Florida. I liked California for several years, but eventually I started to see that Florida is the place for me. I love Florida. I could never go back to California even though my son and daughters were born there. Depends on what you want out of life and where you like to live, but California is no place for me that is for sure.

The exodus is an urban myth. Census says 1. 65% move out of CA state each year, Texas by comparison is 1. 54% not much different. A lot of other states are higher. Aggregate cell phone data shows the cell phones aren’t leaving. Post office change of address forms ditto. Credit bureau address records, ditto.

Sadly true. I too, born and raised in So. Cal, along with my two brothers and my sister. We have left California. One to Oregon, another to No. Carolina and my sister, she moved to Mexico. No longer home. We all left for these very reasons mentioned in this video.

Lived in the Bay Area for grad school from 94-97. Loved the nature, but even then this same attitude described in the video was there. The day after graduation I was in my car headed back east. Didn't look in the rear view mirror.
