hi as someone who lives here please keep your vacations here to a minimum a lot of the residents are being pushed out by tourists: housing is impossible to find because much of it was converted to airbnbs and such. obviously you should get to visit and sea our lovely town but some of us are really struggling because of all the new people who have more wealth moving in from out-of-state and pushing the people whove lived here for years out and its very sad. many apartment buildings are being built on crucial beaches for wildlife as well as more and more houses going up on beachfronts where beaches are being privatised. many of these buildings are way too big and as for apartments the rent is so absurdly high that most of them sit empty all year because no one can afford them.
sarasota is my home, and i just want to make sure everyone is aware of how we're struggling too so you can be more mindful about everything. the traffic issues you mentioned are for the same reason: overcrowding and a constantly increasing wealth gap. a tiny, tiny house here is 2500 a month for rent. just be aware that not everyone here is happy, and if you can if youre a florida resident, don't vote for politicians that have an interest in lowering taxes for landlords as the very wealthy are buying up all our housing and then turning it into airbnbs.

Don't buy the Hype. Take it from someone who lives in this area. The place is a shithole. Nightmare traffic 24/7. Infrastructure in desperate need of Repair/Updating. Most 'Jobs' down here pay a Pittance of what it cost to live. If you like living in a place where Wealthy, Fascist Boomers are in control then you will Love it.

6: 30. The idiot driving the white car in the inside lane of the traffic circle is the reason people hate traffic circles. Completely violates traffic law, cuts the vehicle in the outside lane off and if there were more traffic probably would have caused a collision. They would work great if people understood how to drive.

I revisit your videos when winter in the Inland Northwest is getting the best of me. The sky and ground are often a whitish grey, and everything is dead and dreary for 5 months or more. What an escape to see your Florida vids.

Stayed near Nathan Benderson park last March into early April. Would love to ride the Legacy trail when we get our bikes to Sarasota. Friends live in the mennonite neighborhood near Bahia Vista. Will try Yoder's. Great video with real life recommendations, esp the restaurants. Mattison's is good.

Nope, not for me. Yes, it's a beautiful place. Lived here for 20 years. from NYC. but it's getting $$$ like NYC and getting over crowed. I am leaving at the end of 2023 and going west to be close to nature. Not to mention the hurricanes in Florida. That's costly by Florida.

The people living in the clouds here wow. It's not all perfect in Sarasota and certainly not Florida people. Even the natural beauty is being ruined, no less so than the water. Whilst stunning and gorgeous, this video only shows the dreamy side.

They paved paradise and put up a parking lot. Florida is a complete disappointment. Greed and gated up water access everywhere for the elite amd the servants drive an hr into work for these schmuck. Wake the heck up!

We bought a couple properties in 34237. One to live in and one as an Airbnb and could not be happier. Almost making enough money on the Airbnb to pay both mortgages. Close to downtown, Lido, Longboat and Siesta.

You gotta mention Sattimi's Italian gelato on St. Armand's circle in Lido Key. By far the best and most reasonably priced gelato anywhere in Sarasota area.
