I flew into Boston and rented a car. It not only was cheaper that way but I made stops along the way in kennebunkport and booths bay on the way back. Two really great towns. I went in off season in April so not everything was open, in the park as well as in Maine in general. But my time there was awesome cuz I had the park almost to myself. If I ran into anyone, they were usually locals who gave me great suggestions. Like where to get the best and cheapest lobster rolls. You wont find them online. It was a local sports bar that I think only locals went to that was located in an alley off a main parking area near downtown. Went there twice. Theres a decent grocery store there and a great little bakery I only discovered on the day I left. Im itching to go back. I stayed in an old historic hotel that was a bit outside of town so it was cheaper and the stay included breakfast. I had a car so it didnt matter I was five blocks from downtown. Thanks for sharing your tips. Id love to go back. It was such a lovely place. Im glad you and pops got to enjoy it.

As I'm never going to get there I look forward to seeing more of that awesome Autumn colour in your full video Josh. BTW your pop-overs looked very much like Yorkshire Puddings to me (popular in the UK but we also eat them in Oz and Im sure many other places) - traditionally eaten with roast beef and I love them as a desert with Golden Syrup. cheers from Western Australia

I need to still watch your other Acadia videos but super excited to see you here. Im from Maine originally. My husband is actually from MDI (where most of Acadia is. His dad is a 50 plus years lobster fisherman and actually fishes out of Bass Harbor right in front of that lighthouse. We both have worked seasons at Acadia (now currently stationed at Everglades.

Acadia has become crazy since we have visited. For those that can't get accommodations in Bar Harbor, don't forget the campgrounds. The shuttles will take you from your campground to not only Bar Harbor, but everywhere in the park. Saves you the stress of driving and parking

make sure if you are traveling from MA to ME along 95/295 on the coast, that you stop and see the Desert of Maine in Freeport along with the LL Bean stores. And always remember, you can't get there from here.

I've heard the sunrise permits are so hit and miss because of morning fog, you spend all the time, effort and. you see nothing. So maybe it isn't worth it to try and get a sunrise permit.

Visited the past 2 years there and one suggestion is if you plan on hiking, START EARLY. Parking is very limited and the trails can get crowded during the summer

how was the precipice hike compared to angel's landing. i did angel's in 101 degree heat last year without being too exhausted as i kept an easy pace up the trail

I was there more than 40 years ago, it wasn't that busy in the summer, i believe we camped there, the nights are colder and there is fog near the coast.

The city of Bangor is pronounced Bang Gore. This mis-pronunciation irritates Mainers an irrational amount so please try your best for our sake.

I was there in July 2022 and it was very windy and cold at the Cadillac Mountain watching the sunset. A jacket is recommended.
