I was just in Canyonlands in February, and visited the Needles for the first time. I also got a little lost at Pothole Point, though not for long. I somehow missed the Cave Springs Trail completely, but you guys seem to have missed what I thought was the most impressive day hike, the Slickrock Foot Trail that starts just up the hill from the end of the road. It's 2. 4 miles round trip, without much elevation change. Though there are enough little up and downs that my legs, which were still sore from hiking the Landscape Arch and Delicate Arch trails in Arches the day before, were protesting by the end. Anyway, great video! The zoom in my camera isn't nearly as good as yours, so I just got a much better view of the actual Needles than when I was there in person.

Four wheeling over Elephant Hill is the way to get to the best areas in The Needles. Devil's Kitchen has very cool campsites, #4 is best IMO. Chesler Park is beautiful and
the view of the confluence of the Colorado and Green Rivers is awesome. The hike to Druid Arch is over 10 miles round-trip, but definitely worth the effort. Can't wait to get back there again this October.

My daughter and I just drove across the country and stopped at many national parks and enjoyed all of them so much! We may have to go for another cross country trek and visit this park and others we missed. This looks like a really beautiful park. btw shoe head really does look like a shoe!

Very cool especially newspaper rock. Looks like a very under estimated part of the park for now.
So how would you rate the mighty 5 favorite to least in your opinion.
I understand they each have there own beauty

Nicely done!
Love the trail to Chessler Park, I'd recommend everyone start the trail even if you are only there for a short bit. It's a steep climb out of the canyon but the views at the top are amazing.

It just dawned on me did they name the town of Needles after those needle rocks? Or is this place no where near there. I'm watching a movie simultaneously and am a little distracted.

Approx 20 years ago we were driving through needles, and I got a hefty ticket for no seatbelt. The cop was hiding behind a pile of rocks and sand. I was mad about it for years.

Awesome video! I heard that the Elephant Hill Road is so treacherous that it's faster to walk it than drive. Haha!
