If you’re one of the many lifters who are worried that supplementing with creatine may cause you to lose your hair, then I want you to pay very close attention. The link between creatine supplementation and hair loss boils down to one key hormone: dihydrotestosterone. Now according to the research, dihydrotestosterone (or DHT) is associated with hair follicle shrinkage, which leads to (early and unwanted) baldness. And one study conducted in 2009, found significant increases in DHT levels from creatine supplementation. Now, before we can come to a definitive conclusion, there are a few factors we must consider. Creatine DOES cause hair loss. Whoever claims that it doesn’t, are women and guys with very low testosterone. Or just an advocate of supplement industry. The reason that they don’t research creatine and hairloss anymore is that the giant supplement industry would be hurt.

i started losing my hair while taking creatine. i had hair all over my bed sheets, and started noticing and other noticed my hair density was decreasing. i stopped cold turkey and it started to get more full again. creatine is AMAZING, for muscle growth and all the benefits, but it’s not for everyone.

When I started to get serious about my training, and started taking Creatine, I had a full head of hair and was getting jacked, but after some time, I was jacked but started getting a crown. And now I shave my whole head to not have that f'd up look.

if you are genetically predisposed to hair loss, creatine will speed up the process considerably. I lost alot of hair on creatine and regret using it. Its only temporary gains anyway.

Creatine has created an runway over my head within a short period of time of one month. It is a jungle fire which leaves no hair over head. First I was worrying about my body and now head.

Since everyone is adding their anecdotes, I'll add mine: I've been taking creatine since about 2008 and still have a full head of hair at age 52.
