Hi-ho there, y'all!
I have been using a GREAT free .pdf reader called Sumantra for well over ten years+. It is totally free and has NO bloatware. You can ONLY read your .pdf files; not fiddling about with the formats & such, and no editing... ONLY reading.
I have absolutely no investment in the software. I just figure if a person ONLY needs to be able to READ their .pdf files, then Sumantra is a great choice. No annoying pop-ups EVER. It is simple to use and VERY user friendly.
Bret, I sincerely hope you check it out and give some feedback regarding your opinion. You have a TON of us that 100% respect what you think of feel regarding such.
Take care everybody and stay safe out there!
OH! I almost forgot. Thanks so much for the info regarding what I THOUGHT was 'THE ONLY WAY TO GO' regarding ad blockers. Believe it or not, a few days ago I 'pulled the trigger' on getting the 'Premium' version of AdBlock Plus . I shall rectify this today - lol. THANKS!

Helpful. I will never use a password manager. Convenience is a big risk all on it's own. K-lite Codec Package is another good media player. For audio it's still Winamp (still the only player I have come across that ACTUALLY randomizes/shuffles the playlist before playing AND works like an actual audio player). VLC is great though, I just find it not as user friendly as the other two on PC, but for Android there's nothing better except the playlist shuffle . Your suggestion of reader is not good though. Will never ever install it again. Inkscape or Scribus are better options.

Another free program that should not be on any pc is the copy of McAfee antivirus that still come pre-installed on pretty much all major brands PCs it doesn t work (it lets basically everything in), it s useless (unless you go on shady sites Windows 10 and 11 s default Security Suite/Defender is more than enough) and weighs down your machine (it consumes tons of resources). It s pure bloatware that should be removed as soon as you set up your new computer.

In the beginning of this year, I cancelled my LastPass account and switched to 1Password. I am pleased with 1Password. We can no longer trust LastPass and it appears that haven't increased security or added new features as other password managers have been doing. The online interface is dated

for the vpn thing, i wouldn t recommend using vpns in general unless you re using it to change your location for certain services or if you re using a public wifi
vpn don t improve your privacy most of the time and they just slow down your internet speed

Brett, I just uninstalled Adobe Acrobat Reader and just to prove your observations, the program cried to its Mommie and opened a webpage begging for comment and trying to resell all its benefits.

I had a major issue with Avast. It locked out my video camera and I could not participate in video calls. Their tech support couldn t help me either. I had to uninstall it.

I used to advocate for Edge, but it's gotten really predatory.
I still use it because I'll take it over Chorme plus the MS sync stuff is great.

I love these videos. They are great. I often find free and open source software to be better than proprietary applications
