Hi! I have a new function I would like to see in Excell. Maybe you can take it on.
I am going for a trip. I want to be able to Have Countries in a list, and then in the colon to the right next to it is cities.
I want to make a dropdown menu list for Cities I am gonna visit in that country.
So that I wont have to open a new sheet for every city, and not just one country per sheet.
So I need to see which cities I am gonna visit, in the dropdown menu.
And then, I would like the list to change for every city I choose. Like the other coloms are owned to the city I pick. And for each city, the plans on the list are changed. You know how to do this?

How would you create a drop down list if you had a reference chart at the bottom to explain what the numbers signified, like Race/Ethnicity for example. We want to keep the field small and only include a number to signify what race/ethnicity the person is. Example 1=American Indian-Alaska Native. I want to be able to see what each number represents when using the drop down tool but I only want it to record the #1. Again, there will be a table at the end of the document for people to see what the #1 signifies. I want the person inputting the date to know what each number signifies when hitting the drop down arrow but keep the answer short to a number.

Thanks for the easy to follow info on just the topics I'm looking for. I'm seeing up an inventory and sales tracking spreadsheet. If I start with a simple one but with all the data points I want is it easy enough to add in all the charts and pull down tabs later? I need to get my items in inventory but may not be able to get my spreadsheet as detailed right away. Eventually I want to be able to evaluate all my sales numbers. Thanks much!

Honestly i thought it was more complicated than this!!! I've always avoided working with excel (or doing stuff manually with no formulas etc) coz some instructions or videos are so vague or poorly made respectively. Ill be checking out later -pivot tables- if you have a video on that. I am sooo subcribing to learn more tricks. PS: This is the longest comment i've ever made on YT.

When I try to add a new item to the validation list, it is not populating into the dropdown in the cells. I've definitely made the list a table, but when I add items to the table for the list, they still do not show up in the dropdown. I keep seeing videos showing the same process and it does not work for me. Is this maybe something about using Office 365?

Hi this was really helpful. Is there a way to create a drop down list that lists, lets say about 20 schools but leaves the number of a code in the cell that identifies that school. I need to use a numeric code for each school but don't want to have to refer to my list of codes to select the right code

Could you cover how to create a drop down with a default item in the list. In other words a drop down list with a word or number showing automatically then click on the arrow to view the other choices you can select.

I'm taking a Microsoft Office class for a degree, and couldn't figure out how to create survey in Excel 365 until I found this video. Thanks so much for breaking it down into easy to repeat parts!
