How Indictment of Julian Assange Is Going To End Investigative Journalism - The Hated One The indictment of Julian Assange is going to change the world forever. After the arrest of the founder of WikiLeaks, the fate of journalism and free press is called into question. The arrest of WikiLe-ks founder Julian Ass-nge is going to leave a mark in the history books. Ass-nge has a complicated personality. But the story of WikiLe-ks throughout the years challenges the very foundations of what it means to live in a Western society. On April 11th, Ass-nge was arrested by London Metropolitan Police. But what makes history is neither of these cases. It-s his subsequent arrest at a central police station in London by British authorities on behalf of the United States. The US arrest came with an indictment accusing Assange of conspiracy to commit computer intrusion with former US military intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning. The federal government is now seeking to extradite Assange into the United State where he could face up to five years of prison time for this single charge. The indictment counts four main acts as part of the conspiracy: 1. The communication between Assange and Manning using Jabber instant messaging service where they agreed to acquire and disseminate the classified documents and crack the password on one of the DoD computers. 2. The effort Assange took to conceal Manning as the source of the leak. The indictment counts four main acts as part of the conspiracy: 3. That Assange encouraged Manning to provide more information from the government systems. 4. And the fact that Assange and Manning used a cloud drop box to transmit the leaked documents

I don't remember how many times I go to wiki for info, it's really helpful but I won't say thank you,
Too much info is making one tiring. That's the reason I don't see
Assange as a nice guy. There must be a limit to how you engage and empower people, pricing could be a solution. I'm sure maybe 10 or 20 years from now, we could see the effect Assange has made. More knowledgeable people in the world is good for US. He is a friend, not an enemy to US.

So. I liked the story. Puts it all into perspective how Governments control what we know, how we know, etc. Criminalizing people in order to coverup their wrongful actions. What do you suggest we do to fight it? Too many are afraid to loose their monthly government checks, go to jail, be called an outcast or titled as an enemy of our own country!

So. Hacking another computer is ilegal, the government wants hackers (specially the ones that hack their stuff) on jail. The guy at the end said is your privacy and your info so he should be arrested. Yet Google, Facebook and so on take all your data and sell it/give it to the feds and that's ok.

Assange didn't technically break the law, Manning did. All Assange did was publish information that was provided to him by a source and then tried to conceal his source. Nothing to see here, we just gotta get rid of the snitches so the deep state can continue it's corrupt activities.

This guy is not Edward Snowden, c'mon the guy rubbed shit on walls in a place that took him in. Julian was a data shill, he gave info to Putin and who knows what other people are involved. Stop pretending that Julian Assange acted in good faith and was some kind of hero.
reply

He knowingly accessed classified documents for which he had no authority to access, he then went on and published the contents of those documents.
If a government suspects that a crime has been committed then they can seek authority to gather evidence about that crime.

I'll tell you this much. The UN says that his arrest is unlawful and against all human rights conventions, considering that his actions were in public interest, same with Snowden. I believe that the UN is a reasonably credible source, at least more credible than the US.

Only if the crooks are still in power. Pay attention to IG and AG reports coming out. Phase 1. Sometimes u have to see things as perceived in order to see the end result as it truly is or later looking back as it truly was. Deception is not always bad but required.

Referring Mr manning as a her is an abomination. I think is a high probability that mk ultra brainwashing make manning crazy in order to discrediting him and/or compromise anyone interacting with him. in that sense it was tremendously successful
