A Quick Look At Slackel 7.3 Openbox DistroTube
video description
Slackware was my very first Linux, back in early -94. I got hooked on Unix at university, where they had tons of lovely Sun Sparcstations that I couldn't get enough of. Such gorgeous machines.
I discovered a pioneering company called Walnut Creek who sold various Linux and BSD distributions on CD-ROM, and they got me a nice CD-set with -Slackware 93- on it. Still have it somewhere. It was glorious, finally Unix at home! The joy when I finally managed to get X11 running was unreal. Things weren't particularly easy in those days, haha.
Slackware will always have a special place in my heart.

I use Slackware btw.
Removed KDE4 and added Alien Bob's KDE Plasma. Added Mate , i3wm, Spectrwm .
XFCE4.12, blackbox, Fluxbox, Fvwm2, WindowMaker, Twm all out of the box.
I had Salix on laptop a few years ago and it did ok, but I don't think it was that impressive . I tried Slackel too and didn't stick with it either.
Slackware works .
Too be around for so long Slackware must be doing something right.

I have always had an affinity for Slackware since it was the OS that introduced me to Opensource. I may have to check out Slackel... not sure if I like the choice of desktops but hey I have a fedora laptop that is being a pain with HDMI audio so I may switch just for the fun of it.

Thank you, Derek. I like Openbox but I really enjoy Fluxbox more for some reason. I do not have my Openbox config files anymore but I always keep my Fluxbox configs backed up everywhere.

Slackware deserves much more respect and attention! It's first distro and still standing strong to their principles. Their community is awesome too! Long live Slackware!

I think they should call it -LXDE edition-. Refering to this as Openbox would be like refering to KDE plasma as Kwin, or like refering to GNOME 3 as mutter.
