Nice video, man. I have a simple but pretty specific question now that I'm giving Resolve a shot. I do a LOT of multicam editing and one quirk I've found is that once I'm set up and editing my multicam just like you have it set up, if I hop over to Fairlight, Fusion, or even just a different timeline my source window where I can view all the different camera angles always switches back to showing 'Source' and I have to use the dropdown in the bottom left to switch it back to 'Multicam'. Is this just a quirk of Resolve or is there a way for it to always remember what setting I want that preview window set to? I tried Googling it but I just keep landing on videos like yours that don't touch on it. Thanks!

Great video. Is it possible to have multicam preview reflect each tracks zoom/position? i record 4x 1080p scenes in 4k then zoom into each area via 4 duplicated tracks, so now i have 4 1080p tracks using the one master 4k scene, however when converting to multicam, the 4 tracks all show up in the preview the full 4k scene, not the zoom/pan regions as is shown per track/ This makes it very confusing knowing what you are switching to when switching in real time playback. Is this by design or something not yet implemented? i dont want to have to do 4 separate pre-renders then re-import, it makes the job unnecessary tedious.

Hi, great videos... learning so much with those. So, question is that I made it but my problem is that when I drag my multicam file to my timeline, my 2 video tracks and my 2 audio tracks appears on. my timeline. And in the multicam viewer I see both clips. I clicked on to try to make a cut and switching the camera angle but nothing is happening. I did all what you're telling but... I'm new in video editing and maybe I missed something basic. Thanks in advance and keep going like you do.

I have been looking and looking and can't find an answer, so any help would be lovely. I have a project, shoot with three cameras. There are probably 20 or more shots per camera. Scene 1, Scene 2, Scene 3 etc. I labeled each camera as Angle 1,2,3 in Metadata already. When I create a multicam clip, only Scene 1 is used. How can I create a multicam clip that has all the takes?

Hi Kevin, great video...learned a lot! Question...I use 4 GoPros to record in flight videos which I manually sync and edit in resolve. GoPro chunks up video into -4GB chunks, so on a 1hour flight, I can have 6 or 7 files from each of 4 cameras. Is there a way to group 24 - 28 files into 4 angles? I tried your method and came up with 15 different -angles-. Thanks

thank you again a really clear tutorial! I love that i am able to have davinci also on my powerful new apple m1pro macbook. I had to switch because of so much videowork. but after 40 years coming all the way back from msdos: are you planning of doing a switch tutorial? as a win pro it could be awesome for us double apple/win users

My GoPro breaks my long clips into 5 minute segments so for a 15 minute dualcam shot, I have 2 rows of 3 clips in sequence. Would this require merging ahead of time to create a 15 minute version of each camera or is there a way to get it all done in davinci?

HI Kevin, I followed all your steps but when I drag the multicamera sequence in the timeline, it shows all my videos clips (i'm working with three) they are well synced, but all three of them appear and I am not able to produce a multicam clip.

Looked so easy, thanks. We now have multiple GoPro's on our truck when we travel and wanted an easy way to edit these clips together. Thanks for the Proxy tip, already knew about optimized media.
