That's not a walk back, they are obviously not going with traditional, generational-naming (which infers a lot, and more than just multiple sku's from launch, or close enough. AT least one of the new Xbox things you will be able to buy in 2020 will be Xbox Series X and (probably) Xbox Series S. I think it implies that come 2025 (or whenever) you will see X2 and S2 (and x3, x4, x5; s2, s3, s4, s5; in the future) with naming being like a phone such as the Galaxy line (S3, S4. S10. So in the past: Xbox -> Xbox 360 -> Xbox 360 Arcade Business Name -> Generational Name -> SKU naming Of course, what confuses this is that in such traditional schemes, the first generation device and the business name are the same. Also, the first sku (at least externally, but almost never internally) is the same name as the generation one (so the first console from the PlayStation division was called PlayStation, and the first sku of that device was called PlayStation. Anyway, it seems more like one of the follow for MS moving forward: Xbox -> Xbox Series X (X2, X3, X4) / Xbox Series S (S2, S3, S4) Xbox -> Xbox -> Xbox Series X, Xbox Series X2, Xbox Series X3, etc) It's sort of like they are doing away with generational naming for naming almost entirely focused on sku, and adding numbers to THAT over time (like phones and other products that don't really have generations in the style that consoles have had. I think this points to some forward-compatibility situation, whatever it may be (several options, depending on third party feedback. But we shall see. Perhaps in 5-7 years they will just go with something else.

I don't see why is it so hard to understand. They're basically not binding the XBOX name to a specific hardware box, they're just naming their whole gaming platform XBOX. Each specific XBOX pre-built machine will be called Series. So if you want to play XBOX, you will be able to play it on your PC or buy one of their pre-built machines - you will be able to choose between a cheaper series or a more expensive series (for higher resolution, I guess. This way they will normalize their whole ecosystem, then they just have to release another pre-built model (next series) when there is a new technology jump (8k. I don't know if that's a good idea or not, I'm just saying that it's not so hard to understand the concept and the naming, it makes absolute sense. Everyone is just making sensationalist fun of it.

The thing I don't like about controllers is that people who use them act as if it was the be-all and end-all of all gaming peripherals, I like controllers but only for racing type games or other similar slower movement that require diagonal precision. I don't mind controllers if only going left and right would take as much travel movement, it would be nice to just nudge right to quickly go right, not to go from left to right to then go right, takes too long comparing to mouse, since in some games fast movements are necessary and it's quicker to do that on mouse.

I have a unique favor to ask from you in the hope you will find the Christmas Spirit and help me out. I have a 2080 Ti FTW3 Ultra Hybrid, and I need/want a 240mm clc rad off one of the 2080 TI K NGP N. maybe get Tin or Vince to help me out. as my card has the 120mm clc on it and I would love to swap it out for a 240mm clc. As you may know there is no aftermarket 240 clc for it that will fit and allow the shroud to go back on. I would buy it and pay for shipping sir. thank you for any help on this if you could. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Well theres two reasons x299 isn't selling. 1. The boards and cpu's are ridiculously expensive especially compared to their performance level. They offer NOTHING to the customer to justify the cost. 2. With both amd and intel providing cpus with their standard boards that perform as well or better for significantly less money there is no reason to buy these boards. Simply put, they need to dump them at near total loos to get anything back, and even then the cpu prices really make it nearly impossible to justify the x299 at all.

I have that exact same computer case (Cooler Master Q300L or something? Not the one that has 0 airflow I know that lol) that I got to build as a family PC / streaming machine. Anyways, windows just will not boot off of the SSD I'm using for it, I'm not giving up one of my M. 2 drives, and I'm not filthy enough to run windows off of a spinning disk ever again (even though that works. So my old Ryzen 1600, 8GB's of 3200MHz RAM, a refurbished RX 470, etc. sit alone and sad. I feel bad now.

If we do see a glut of X299 board on sale can you do a video showing us how to fit the AMD Threadripper into them? After all what other reason would there be to buy a motherboard nowadays other than to put an AMD chip into it lol: ) Intel COULD however Completely turn around its poor CPU sales by offering to give an intel chip and motherboard away free with each AMD CPU and motherboard bought: ) Thats about the ONLY way people would be inclined to have most of intels stack at the moment: )

A couple of our CNC machines at work run on XP. They are on a segregated network that can't see the outside world. Why XP, because it works, and upgrading to W10 is 10, 000 per machine. The existing software/hardware works with XP and Not W10. This is why it costs so much, we have to buy new hardware, which is a new motherboard with custom PCIe cards and compatible custom drivers, and new versions of the control software. This isn't just a motherboard swap.

I want to buy a cheap X299 motherboard, throw in that wonderful 7350X (I KNOW IT EXISTS SOMEWHERE) or at minimum a 7640X (the X299 7600K) and 8GB's of RAM into the few slots that will function because it still has only 16 lanes, basic GPU and run the system with the motherboard nail to the wall with a placard above it saying SHAME. I'll give it basic tasks like running the latest multithreaded gam---oh wait. well I guess I can reduce the resolution.
