So ive seen this brushing the mud off swordfish now a couple times and ive seen it refuted often.
People say that your breaking up the skin and the black stuff is pigment from the skin, not mud.
It does make more sense, as im not sure the bottom sediment would stick to the fish, or if it even gets in the mud, its not rooting through it.
Also you catch tile fish that literally live burried in the mud and they come up clean and no one brushes tilefish.

Back in the day when I was fishing off The Jersey Shore we would run anywhere from 60 to 90 Mi or more offshore from the Baltimore Canyon up to the Hudson Canyon on a Friday night then we would start Bill fishing first light Saturday morning. Then we would swordfish overnight on Saturday get up Sunday morning billfish a few hours and then run back to the dock. I miss them days

Awesome video! It’s incredible to see the effort that goes into targeting swordfish at those depths. The use of the electric reel definitely highlights how technology can help tackle such challenging fishing scenarios. I’d love to hear your thoughts on balancing the thrill of traditional techniques with the practicality of tools like this. Keep up the great content!

just curious Vic why couldn't you swordfish with your old boat if it's only 12 miles out from the harbor Don't get me wrong it's so cool to catch a swordfish but the electric reel had all the fun. The electric reel makes sense for commercial fishing but for recreation purposes I don't know. Setting the hook is my favorite part

Love the videos on the blue water, I am interested in the 25ft blue water. You guys are so lucky in Florida you run 10 miles and you’re in 1600ft deep. For me in new York we have to run 110-120 miles to get 1500ft deep. Keep up the good work vic and brook!

Nice thick steaks! I’m on the west coast of fl and where I am not close to good fish mkts, so when I call and ask if they have whole sections of sword and say yes, I say I’ll be right in then request a 2 cut they look at me like I’m nuts

Dam shame! I don't watch ANY content with the use of electric reels. It ain't fishing! If you can't fight it to the surface, then don't fish at that depth.
